With just over a million people, Odessa is Ukraine’s fourth-largest city. Set in the country’s south along the Black Sea coast, Odessa was founded in the late 18th century as a Russian naval fortress. For many years in the mid-19th century, it was a free port, becoming home to a multinational populace. In 1905, it was the site of a major Russian Revolution uprising by crew members of the Battleship Potemkin. The nice old town area has a beautiful opera house, and the city has many great beaches.

Opera massive building impressed me much! It is so beautiful from outside. I liked interiors as well. I'm sure it's "must be" point on the list of every tourist in Odessa. I wanted to see Sleeping Beauty ballet by Tchaikovsky and it was perfect choice. The performance fished with standing ovation. Dancers were simply supermen. And music live was perfect. I would love to come back here one day :-)

I'm a frequent visitor here. It's everything a Jazz venue should be, one of the best in Odesa, with great musicians performing. Acoustics is excellent in the hall, any bar noises interrupting. The last concert I visited was Céline's Rudolph performance and it was absolutely exquisite. The venue is underground yet spacious, the chairs are very comfortable. Seats around 200 guests. When in first rows you're really close to the musicians. The staff is friendly :) The atmosphere is very casual and cosy. Children are welcome. A toddler quietly and enthusiastically danced through all the concert, very touching. All in all that's a great place to visit for a solo traveler, or with friends. If you enjoy jazz and would like to experience a superior event this is the place.

We watched Don Juan yesterday and will definitely come back for other shows soon again. The perfect place for having a good laugh at the end of the day. With a mix of theatre, clownery and dancing the show is great entertainment, even if you don't speak Russian perfectly yet.
