Things to do in Ocean City, Maryland (MD): The Best Water & Amusement Parks

November 15, 2021 Tonie Szymanski

In Ocean City, Maryland's only coastal community, the beach is the main attraction. Stroll the three-mile Boardwalk along the seafront while sampling salt water taffy and other old-fashioned treats. The summer season explodes with special concerts, beach bonfires and kids' activities. Nature enthusiasts will love nearby Assateague Island, home to deer and wild ponies. Once a tiny fishing village, it now spans 10 miles, but anglers still flock to the area waters; it's known as the White Marlin Capital of the World.

We just returned from Frontier Town in Ocean City, MD. We were there from the 23rd of October to the 30th of October. The campground was packed on the day we arrived with all kinds of decorations for Halloween. The campground has a contest for campsite decorations along with costumes winners. The place is big and has a lot of things to do just in the campground. They have a camp store with ready to go food, Lazy River Saloon, a Creamery, General Store and activities for children. They are right on the water and they have a launch ramp for people with boats. Ocean City and Assateague Island are just minutes away. Great place to visit, plenty to do.

Trimper's Rides and Amusement Park

Every time we go "ride the rides" as my son would say the operators at Trimpers make the memory along with the rides. Some of the rides are very old school which i love, I remember riding the Snoopy airplanes and fairy whip as a child! They have hidden restrooms that could be cleaner but are no where near as busy as the boardwalk restrooms. The rides are run a lot longer than the Jolly Roger rides on the pier, the biggest part for me is the operators, 90% of the time they genuinely seem like they care that your child is having a great time unlike the Jolly Roger side where they all seem miserable. Ill make the 3.5 hour trip a couple times a year for my kiddos to go ride the Trimpers rides!

A beautiful, fun amusement park on a pier in Ocean City, Maryland, that is way too expensive. There are many others in the area and they too are costly but this one is the worst. Take alot of free pretty pictures.

Awesome go kart park. Cyclone is cool. My boys and I had fun trying out all the tracks. I would highly recommend you purchase a speedworld pass with a splash mountain pass. Do NOT waste money on the Jolly Roger dry rides.
