We took this while on a cruise in 2019. I am late writing this review. 6 of us signed up to share a van. The couple who own and run this were delightful. very informative, and accomodating. We covered several of the highlights aroudn town and further out which was what we wanted. They took numerous photos which was very thoughtful. In regards to the photos I would recommend working a bit on photo composition e.g. don't place the subjecs directly in line with the main sight which then blocks that view so just becomes yet one more photo of people rather than a memory of that particular location.

We also can stop at Swiss Air 111 Memorial Site in Bayswater then onto Canada’s most beloved lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove perched upon granite worn smooth by the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Fantastic tour! Loved everything about; from the comfy car ride to the amazing stories and historical details about the area. Enjoyed at great lunch in Fisherman's Cove in Dartmouth. Made a few stops and got to walk around some of the historical sites and monuments. Paul was an absolute delight. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be going on another tour next time we are in town!

Great trip down the waterfront but drive carefully as the waterfront gets busy in summer. Go early and try and go on a day there are no cruise ships in port as this time is very busy. Lots of places to get snacks, ice cream, beaver tails (delicious pastry) and drinks.

This sail was wonderful. My wife and daughter and I enjoyed the cruise last night. We have to say that it was The Pirates of Halifax that ‘made’ the evening for us. They were wonderful at engaging the audience, and truly ‘set the mood and tone’ of the evening. I am not a fan of live music, and found myself clapping my hands and tapping my foot along to their performance! The one drawback was one very intoxicated woman, who’s actions and loud talk made it impossible for us to hear the story teller for the first half hour of the cruise. The woman, was very intoxicated when she boarded, had trouble walking, her speech was slurred and quite frankly, her behaviour obnoxious. I feel that she should have been denied boarding, or the very least denied her more alcohol service. The staff made no effort to quiet her, although it was plain that she was annoying everyone. We feel that it was only one of the Pirates of Halifax that finally engaged her and her group in an effort to mitigate her behaviour on others. Despite this, we’re looking forward to sailing again, and will be highly recommending the Tall Ship Silva to everyone!

We booked a three hour tour and paid the deposit in advance. On day of tour scheduled for 1pm a driver came at 9am. We were not there. They realized our tour was 1pm and came back, but not in the location given on our instructions. We waited in the rain and no one showed. We called two different phone numbers and only got a recording. After 30 minutes and talking to several people in the area (that never heard of Van Tours of Nova Scotia) we finally got the driver - with a bad attitude - to show up. He only wanted to say it wasn’t his fault and he wasn’t going to apologize for the delay. He was a hired driver (not an employee of Van Tours of Nova Scotia) and therefore not responsible for the mix up. His attitude made the four of us decide we didn’t want to spend any time listening to him or even in the same small taxi. We got out and left - wet and upset. Van Tours of Nova Scotia would not give us our deposit back. Back on our ship we found other people booked similar tours with other companies for a much lower price.
