Stayed in an executive lodge that housed 8, we all had a great time over the 5 days trying the Indian and French restaurants, we also tried segways, quad biking, Pedlos and we also went in the pool each day and also a night visit among many other activities. I had actually been 3/4 times before but the place is very entertaining and a great place to have a few days away. The cleaning staff made a little joke with us and a gnome we had took with us (don't ask) even the Segway guys got involved in one of our games we had all agreed to play throughout the entire holiday where if a certain word was said that person would have to do press ups. Happy to recommend the Sherwood Forest Site to any potential visitors, there's something for everyone.

A pre-Lockdown part two walk along the Victoria embankment in the sun was a great way to start the week, quite busy with other walkers, dog-walkers and cyclists its popular but plenty of room for all and the swans & ducks, well worth the time.

A visit to Gunthorpe Lock is a blissful way to spend an afternoon and be sure to pack a picnic if the weather is good. An important river crossing for many years, the first Gunthorpe Bridge was built in 1875 but before this a ferry was the only means of crossing the river here. Visitors can discover more about the lock from the interpretation panel and listening post on site. Disabled visitors enjoy excellent access, with ample car parking and a wide towpath.
I enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon walk around Gunthorpe , it was busy with lots of people and dogs but there’s lots of room to get around. It was nice to see the boats and the lock on the canal, every where is clean and there are a few information boards around. Lots of parking facilities, and it was free to park...bonus ! I got two soft drinks from one of the pub / cafe places and they were very over priced, but I did expect that. There were lots of families having a picnic, paddling in the river and playing ball games. Very relaxing and picturesque. I will definitely go again.
