This town in the very center of England is perhaps best known for its association with the legend of Robin Hood. The men in tights are long gone, though—today, you’ll find a modern city with a fantastic playhouse, ice hockey arena, and many, many shops and clubs.

An intimate live music venue and bar. Voted #2 best venue in the city. Having hosted the likes of Royal Blood, Sleaford Mods, Drenge, Temples and Blossoms. Hidden in plain sight down Newcastle Chambers alley, The Chameleon is a music lovers haven with a tasty craft beer menu in the heart of the city.

Jazz Club, Bar & Kitchen Offering the highest quality live music from local, national & international artists, in an intimate setting, full of atmosphere and charm. Serving a freshly prepared Middle Eastern & Mediterranean Meze (small dishes) menu A mixture of ticketed entry & free entry concerts throughout the week
We’ve (me and Mrs H) been to jazz clubs up and down the UK and as far as we’re concerned Peggy’s has combined the best of all of them and plonked it right in the heart of Nottingham. We started going when Tank and the Bangas appeared earlier last year...a band we’d never seen before but WOW...what a night! They’re on at Ronnie Scott’s in March this year so Peggy’s were well ahead of the game. Since then we’ve become regulars...introducing many of our jazz loving (and fun/food loving) friends to the venue. We’re trying to slowly work through the menu and perhaps have a couple of dishes each on each occasion...but it’s hard to move on as all the food is fabulously tasty and well prepared...I’m stuck on the Lahma Bi Ajeen and the Loobia Sabzi Pollo at the moment but determined to widen my horizons! There’s a great range of drinks and although I’m a draught real ale drinker normally, the Meantime London Pale Ale...a keg beer...hits the spot perfectly. The reason I’ve been prompted to submit this review now is because we took some friends to eat and see the Chet Baker session last Sunday lunchtime and we were completely blown away with it. The line up...Paul Deats on piano, Thom Whitworth on trumpet (and vocals too) and Simon Paterson on bass and vocals...were a complete inspiration. The performance was up there with the best I’ve ever seen, brilliant timing and interpretation...such skilful musicians. We hope that the session is repeated. The food was as exquisite as usual. In fact we enjoyed the afternoon so much that at the end of the session we went for a drink elsewhere in town for an hour or so and booked tickets on my tinter phone to return for the evening jam session at 5pm...another must. And yes, we ate again too!

Metronome is a national centre for music, moving image, video games, live performance and spoken word based in Nottingham. Anchored around a 400-capacity (228 seated) venue, Metronome delivers an ambitious, diverse and contemporary cross-media programme.
I went in Feb and it was an evening show, in the city you can imagine panicking at the thought of having to queue in the cold and dark!! But metronome let every attender wait inside for the gig, I’m not sure if this happens with every event as this was my first one, but it made the night so much more stress free. The building is beautiful inside and the actual gig room is ideal, it’s intimate and you’re right next to the artist. My only issue was that the signing for the band was after the show, and with long queues it can be difficult to know exactly what time you’re leaving, which might be difficult if you’re getting a bus/train back. Nevertheless, I can’t wait for an artist I like to go to metronome again, it’s become one of my favourite venues just from that one night.

We are a small independent amateur theatre, located in the heart of Nottingham's historic Lace Market area. The Theatre is owned an operated by The Lace Market Theatre Trust Ltd., which is a registered charity. We have an enviable reputation for staging first class drama, offering productions that are rarely seen outside of London. The theatre is also available for private hire for functions and conferences, our prices are also very competitive.
Went to see “The knot of the Heart” - wow! What a performance. The whole cast were magnificent and clearly director and other support staff contributed to this amazing play. East Enders eat your heart out. This is real acting.

The Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall are 2 first class entertainment venues in Nottingham. Come and see top West End musicals and plays, opera and ballet, pop, rock and classical music, children's shows and side-splitting comedy.
The Theatre Royal and Concert Hall are of course both amazing venues, but this review is mainly about Opera North. Such a privilege to be able to see a huge opera with full orchestra in Nottingham. They must have had 150 people in this production and although the tickets are expensive it's still good value. The whole opera was amazing and I'd highly recommend anything by Opera North, who do many performances here every year. Upper circle had good views. Not much legroom and not very comfortable seats, but it's worth it to see such a great performance in an iconic venue.

What a wonderful job the management of the Bonington Theatre have done in order to ensure people are able to enjoy the delights of their films etc. in comfort and safety is outstanding. The way they have designed their auditorium is brilliant, whether people are in family groups or on their own, all are catered for. It certainly made sure my friend and I would not be afraid to go back whenever there was something we would like to see. Well Done the Bonington!!

Nottingham's premier comedy club and live music venue. The Glee Clubs are an independent group of award-winning comedy clubs and live music venues.
We visited amidst all the social distancing rules and I'm pleased that I felt safe. A one way system, hand sanitisers, named and separated tables and table service after ordering online or on the app. They have it well organised. There were three comedians on and the compare - all were very funny and had me laughing out loud. We ordered food as we were tempted even though we'd eaten a two course meal beforehand ????♀️. The food came quickly and was hot. All in all a great night out.
