We visited as a family group of 13 of various ages and loved it. Tour guide Sarah was very informative and captured us all from explaining the history of the kibbutz to explaining how the bugs farmed on the kibbutz enable farmers to stop using chemical pesticides, so fascinating. As we visited during Passover we fed the organic donkey weeders Matzah! The food was delicious and a wide variety. A really special kibbutz!

We were touring the north and stopped by to taste and buy some cheese for our road trip. We did not do a tour. The two cheeses we bought were excellent and the nice person in the store recommended we stop by a bakery down the road for some fresh bread to go with it. So we did that as well, and the bread was great, too! We were very happy we stopped there - nice atmosphere, good products, friendly staff.

An authentic silk & honey farm located in moshav Shadmot Dvora at the foothill of Mount Tabor in the Lower Galilee - Dvorat Ha'Tavor is a unique visitors center. This Israeli boutique honey farm offers educational programs and family activities. Inviting visitors to join a live demonstration of the production of honey and silk (the only active silk farm in Israel) as it was done by the Ben Zeev family since the moshav was founded in 1939 as part of the original tower and stockade villages. The farm is open to the public daily from 09:00 to 15:00, all year long thanks to the Mediterranean climate. It includes all the necessary facilities such as parking, toilets, kiosk and a gift shop where you can find pure Dvorat Ha'Tavor honey, souvenirs & honey gift baskets which are a common holiday present among Israelis. Moshav Shadmot Dvora ("Dvora" named after the biblical prophet Deborah who fought Sisera at the foot hill of Mount Tabor) is conveniently located off road 65North, 20 to 40 minutes drive from a lot of the main attractions in the Galilee such as the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, Nazareth, Tiberius and Mount Tabor. In addition to the standard tour Dvorat Hatavor offers special activities for Bar & Bat Mitzvah trips such as the option for the Bar & Bat Mitzvah boys and girls to dress up in the beekeeper costume and accompany the beekeeper in to the hives in the bee observatory as the families watch from the visitors stands. This was a lovely rustic place to stay. A quiet oasis after a hard day of touring in Rosh Pina or Zefat. The food was delicious and our sunset picnic with the horses in the background is a favorite memory. It may be a horse farm but they know how to take care of people too.
