Tomen y Mur

Reviewed By 923Dan - Swindon, United Kingdom

Staying nearby at Bronaber, we visited the nearby Tomen y Mur walk around the Roman ruins and Saxon Hill Fort. Walking around, you can see why the Romans chose this location for their fortification - stunning views on a defensive raised hillock within the mountain valley, which was later used as a Saxon hill fort. Lots to see and expore, on a short walk from the small free car part (through its not sign posted from the main A470). A good free morning in the fresh air amongst well preserved ruins dating through over a thousand years of history. Boggy underfoot in April - so bring good boots!

Lovely little kiosk on the front at Rhos on Sea North Wales. Lovely cheap meals, out side seating. Very friendly staff. Favourite is toasted teacake with a nice hot mug of tea. Would highly recommend.
