Flames of the Forest transports you into a world beyond your imagination so relaxing and uplifting you will never want to leave. A completely intimate, natural experience set within the candle lit rainforest under a black silk canopy highlighted by crystal and budlight chandeliers, Flames of the Forest will create an unforgettable memory at an extraordinary venue. Tuesday and Thursday nights feature two local Aboriginal brothers sharing their remarkable culture with you during the evening. The performance features a cultural background, story telling, didgeridoo playing and song. The rainforest is the natural, authentic backdrop for this spiritual and mystical culture, a performance unique to Flames of the Forest, where you will learn about their timeless oral traditions. Saturday night is for the romantic at heart in this magical place. This intimate evening features a six course tropical tasting menu and quality Australian wines whilst being serenaded by our solo acoustic guitarist. Perfect for honeymooners, small wedding receptions and those seeking a unique dining experience, Flames of the Forest is truly food for the soul.
Lovely food, & very informative Dreamtime talk from Gary, & his brother, explaining local culture & how to play the digeree doo... I would thoroughly recommend it!

From the heart of Cairns Yidinji people comes the inspiring story of a courageous woman who set out to change the world! From the humble shores of the Aboriginal mission of Yarrabah, home to the Yidinji people in North Queensland all the way to the World Stage – BUKAL is the imagining of social justice warrior, traditional owner, elder, mother and Internationally recognised academic Henrietta Marrie’s extraordinary life realised on stage. As we travel from the Australian rainforest to Geneva and journey with an Australian woman who will stop at nothing to uncover injustice and return that which was stolen to its rightful place. Just like the spirit name that her grandfather spoke over the sacred fire, Bukal (black lawyer vine), she finds ways around the obstacles blocking her path. This is a story of resilience. Of passion that is ignited from the fire inside. Of great adventure. Never giving up…and most importantly of Connection.
JUTE's ability to tell engaging, meaningful and thought-provoking community stories in a fun, interactive and entertaining way is refreshing. I have been to 2 performances and both were incredible. Absolute value for money and I rate both performances higher than big shows like The Book of Mormon or Mary Poppins, etc.

Book in advance to enjoy this adults only Cabaret in the unique Paramour Cabaret Theatre located inside the Reef Hotel Casino. With a unique blend of circus, burlesque, comedy, drag queens and one D grade host, this show is one not to be missed while in Cairns!
4 of us went on a Friday night & paid for the 3-course dinner and the adults only Cabaret show for $84. It was a super fun night and we got drinks table service with the dinner and show package which was awesome, as normally you have to line up at the bar if not doing the dinner package. The quality of the show and performers was excellent with a talented cast of local singers, dancers and comedians, none better than Peter James as emcee Wolfgang Valentine with a fake moustache & Brooklyn accent. The skits/numbers were not all original material (eg Otto Titsling from the movie “Beaches” showed up in the 2nd half) but were all executed with awesome commitment (special shout out to the amazing wardrobe and costumes) and the raunch factor was just right (nothing too boundary-pushing), though Wolfgang was pleasingly uncensored and had the audience in fits of laughter. Best of all was the amazing towel sequence, with two amazing male performers strutting around in towels covering their nakedness from the audience (mostly) in eye-openingly creative ways. Donna Perignonn’s drag balloon popping performance was another highlight as was a certain number involving a female dancer with a strap-on. Food was good for the price ($30 for 3 courses effectively) with a basic entree, choice of 3 mains (roast beef & arancini balls were 2 of the options, and chocolate mousse inside a biscuit casing for dessert). We also took photos with the cast afterwards which was nice. A great night out! I’d be super keen to go back again.
