The Hare Krishna Centre is a 100-acre property located in Kumeu in the outskirts of Auckland, New Zealand. A large Krishna Temple is the heart of the centre an is at every step a wonderful spiritual experience, from its ornate altar to its finely crafted doors, many large oil paintings, and wonderful Orissan stained-glass windows. The temple also contains a community hall and shop. Surrounding the temple, the property maintains many interesting animals, native bush, fruit trees, ponds, numerous living quarters, and even a primary school. We host the largest Holi colour festival in New Zealand which attracts over 10,000 guests, and also a food festival each summer. All visitors are welcome.

Nestled in the beautiful Colville valley is a peaceful Tibetan Buddhist retreat centre. Visitors are welcome to walk the grounds, sit in the meditation hall, circumambulate a blessed stupa, see holy Buddhist artwork and relics, and have a walk around a pond that supports native bird life. Relax in the lounge, have a free tea or coffee, browse the shop, enjoy the library or watch Buddhist videos.

We were invited to take part in a traditional Maori welcome ceremony. The Maori elders welcomed us and we responded with a greeting in Welsh and a song.

A lovely old wooden church, with a lot of history dating back to the 1800,s, in tip top condition a wonderful venue for a wedding. Although it shares the same space with the Holy Trinity Cathedral, it stand proudly and the warden who showed us around was a lovely lady , who made the vist very interesting and enjoyable.

I attended a sung Latin Mass at 11AM on a Sunday and was truly impressed with the liturgy. The volunteer choir wad well-rehearsed and did a wonderful job. The organist was obviously a fine musician all of which added to a uplifting worship service by the celebrant.
