This museum is well worth a visit. Art works range from Ancient Egypt and Persia to European art - including paintings by Botticelli, Pisanello and Raphael. The works on display are of outstanding quality, and would not look out of place in the Louvre at Paris. They are displayed freestanding – rather than attached to the walls – in roughly chronological sequence. Admission to the main exhibition is free, though there is a charge if you want to see any temporary exhibitions. There is a café which is expensive, but there is a room for eating your own picnic if you want to save a few euros. The large car park is free, but is a good five minutes walk from the museum.

The Bureau of Art and Research (BAR) is a cultural association based in Roubaix. Founded in 1999, its activities include a contemporary art gallery, the QSP (Sufficient Quantity For). Overall, the QSP exhibits emerging or established artists from diverse backgrounds. Installation, drawing, sculpture, photography, painting, video ... QSP exhibitions reflect the diversity of contemporary practices. In Situ, the QSP offers five to six group exhibitions a year, and it also organizes exhibitions outside its walls through partnerships. B.A.R. develops an active approach to mediation and dialogue. It offers every first Sunday of the month (except August) artists' snacks and creative workshops.
