I'd like to write a review of the Fantastika mall in Nizhny Novgorod under the heading of "Attraction," and not under "Shopping" as one might normally find a mall. The reason is that Western visitors to Russia are often under the false impression that things are hard to buy or that there is some deficit of consumer goods, like they still need to pack toilet paper when visiting. Walking about the usual tourist areas does not convey the unbelievable cornucopia, bigger than the US in some cases, of consumerism but visiting one of the giant hyper malls like Fantastika or the MEGA mall does. It's something I always recommend to Westerners and inevitably they say it was one of the most eye-popping and eye-opening experiences they've had in Russia, a real education and connection to the reality of life in a foreign land. I'll also submit this request for the MEGA mall, an even bigger mall (but further out) than the Fantastika mall.
