GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort is located in Yuzawa town, Niigata. GALA is the only ski resort in the world with our own Shinkansen (bullet train) station, which easily access from Tokyo only around 80 min. by direct shinkansen from Tokyo station or Ueno station. Our ski resort is well known for snow powder which skiers & snowboarders loved. There are tons of activities for everyone to enjoy such as snow sled, “Kanjiki” snow fun tour, snowmobile sleigh tour, or “Bell of Love” observation deck. Also, variety of restaurants you can enjoy here as well: Japanese cuisine restaurant, Blue Seal from Okinawa, Marion Crepes from Harajuku, and etc. After all activities you can relax in our spa area with Japanese onsen, indoor swimming pool, and outdoor jacuzzi. Then Shinkansen will be ready to bring you back to Tokyo within a few steps to end your day smoothly. Winter season usually open around mid of December to the beginning of May every year.
Great place for a day of skiing just an hour and half from Tokyo, on the Joetsu Shinkansen bullet train, the train stops right on the sky area, you just walk from the station to the ski premises, renting the ski equipment is fast and convenient, the staff very friendly and English speaking, the scenery was beautiful, it was snowing a little adding some magic to the place, the runs, it was not crowded, it was a day well spent, definitively will return
