The deep blue waters of the Cote d’Azur are the dramatic backdrop for elegant Nice. Breathe in the fresh Mediterranean air as you stroll the waterfront promenade, or get an eagle eye of the whole city from atop Castle Hill. The pedestrians-only Place Rossetti is the heart of the city, with a grand fountain, vibrant buildings, and the beautiful Sainte-Réparate cathedral giving it a provincial French feel.

This was my favourite place in Nice; very unexpectedly. Modern marble building "floating" on a lake, representing a cygnet (young swan). Looks odd from the outside but feels great from the inside, perfect for art. Well lit, with good descriptions in French and English. Free entry to small but very high quality museum of asian arts. Special room for Japanese tea ceremony. Small cafe. Excellent small gift shop with lovely cards and gifts. Museum features sculpture and paintings from India, Japan, China, South-East Asia, and on the top floor a temporary exhibition (til 24 June 2018) of Mongolian art including many beautiful brush and watercolour horse activities (hunting with eagles, hunting with a leopard, musicians, princes and princesses on horseback). They were so lively and so good I looked at them all individually and I'm not even interested in horses. To get there, take the local bus along the Promenade des Anglais towards the Airport and get off at Parc Phoenix. The entrance is round the back, next to the Park Phoenix entrance, very close to the Novotel and Ibis Suites. Highly recommended if you like modern architecture and/or art.

This museum houses a large collection of French and American artwork from the 1960s to the present.
This is a great exhibition space with the added bonus of a rooftop view of Nice. The permanent collection is supplemented with temporary exhibits. The museum is spacious with plenty of seating provided to allow for a little respite between rooms.

A history of the naive art from XVIIIth century to nowadays through Anatole Jakovsky's donation, and State's trust (among them the National Museum of Art Georges Pompidou).

The Masséna Musee, the architectural jewel of the Promenade des Anglais, evokes through its collections the art and history of the Riviera from the time of the attachment of Nice to France until the end of the Belle Epoque.
This is a beautiful building with several formal furnished rooms and a permanent exhibit with Napoleonic artifacts as well as artifacts from other important figures from the history of Nice. The current exhibit of circus memorabilia and history is extensive and impressive and extremely interesting. The memorial to the victims of the 2016 Bastille Day terrorist attacks is located in the gardens.

That is why I liked it the best. That and it was not crowded at all and I really fell in love with a new artist that had several paintings. It is an old mansion that was donated buy a Russian lady (i think royalty). It has a lot of character because it's not so polished or modern. It was also the only place open on a holiday in the city. I liked the different sitting areas. I o did not see a cat like another reviewer mentioned but I would have LOVED to see le chat since I was missing my fur babies at home in the US. The ticket was 10 EU and was good for 2 days of museums, unfortunately it was our last day in Nice.

Newly established in the heart of Old Nice, the museum offers temporary monographic exhibitions of the biggest names in photography of all trends, from old photography to digital image.
I took my daughter to Nice to have a look at several museums that day, please make sure you keep your ticket as you only pay once then you can get into each museum, The photographs are well displayed the theme when we went was not particularly to our taste or liking in February 2019 but still interesting. There was a documentary playing in French about the artist .
