Take off for an epic 40-45 minute scenic helicopter flight and check out the beautiful coastline from Newcastle over Stockton Beach to Port Stephens. You’ll be able to cover a lot of ground during your extensive flight time, so prepare to be amazed by the iconic Australian coastal landscape. Head over the eastern boundaries of the bay and soak up views of Anna Bay, Fingal Lighthouse, Mount Tomaree National Park, Hawks Nest and more. Your helicopter flight will sweep right over Stockton Beach at about 500 feet, so you can scope out the sand dunes, tin city, and the remains of a giant shipwreck that crashed ashore decades ago. Stockton Beach is home to the largest mobile sand dunes in the southern hemisphere and was the location used for several scenes in the 1979 movie Mad Max, so it’s definitely a sight to see. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see the Newcastle, Stockton Beach and Port Stephens coastline and enjoy an unforgettable adventure.

The name says it all, in our select half day tour you will discover the best Newcastle has to offer, on a custom-painted very "Newy" bike. We take in the major sights of Nobbys Beach and surrounds, continuing along the harbour to check out our street-art scene before heading to the suburbs. The is a premium tour inclusive of local food and beverage tastings throughout. Next we 'go local', peeling back a layer of Newcastle's history, sampling some of our makers’ finest produce. At each stop you will learn about how it makes up the essence of Newcastle, contributing to the fabric of our great coastal city. We are spoilt for choice and whilst some venues are availability dependent, some things may change from time-to-time pending weather conditions, venue operations and ad hoc events we don't want you to miss.

Inclusions: Use of bicycle, Helmet and lock, Non-alcoholic options available, Alcoholic Beverages, Lunch, Post-tour photos, Poncho (in case of wet weather), Bottled water

Exclusions: Public transport card (Opal)

Thanks to Newy Rides for a great day out cruising around seeing all that Newcastle has to offer. I had considered Newcastle to be an industrial city with not much happening but our guide for the day Ben certainly showed how wrong I was about that. Ben was genuinely bursting with enthusiasm to show off the area, giving great insight in to the history of the City while showing his favourite places to eat and drink around Newcastle on the way. Each of the local distilleries, breweries and eateries were very unique places with exceptional food and drinks, the staff were insightful giving their time to have a chat about the history and what they’re producing. I’ll certainly need to track down the gin and beer from these places for home. The last stop was the perfect way to cap off a great day, sharing our highlights and having a laugh over great food and a few takeaway beers from the bottle shop next door. The wide promenades and bike lanes make cycling the perfect way to get around Newcastle at a leisurely pace, even for me not being the most confident rider it was an easy and enjoyable ride cruising around the harbour and beaches then through quiet neighbourhood streets. It sure beat having to find a park or catching Ubers around. I can certainly recommend Newy Rides to not only tourists but also locals as a fun and entertaining day out to see the culture and history of this vibrant and rapidly changing city. I can’t wait to share this gem of a tour and bring friends up to do it again one day.
