We thoroughly enjoyed this performance chronicling the careers of Franki Valli and the 4 Seasons. Great music, energy, and acting. This off Broadway show is totally first class and the venue was much more intimate than some of the big Broadway theaters. Go see it.

This church is a great alternative to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It’s beautiful interior is very welcoming and the pastor gives a very meaningful homily. Though a Catholic church, everyone is invited and would benefit.

Drunk Shakespeare

"The best thing to ever happen to the theater" Slate Magazine "A live action Drunk History" TimeOut Magazine "Zany, rowdy and debaucherous" New York Times. One actor has 5 shots of whiskey and then the show begins... ANYTHING. COULD. HAPPEN. There is a hidden library on the 2nd Floor of a building on 47th and 8th. With over 15,000 books, The Drunk Shakespeare Society meets every night to drink... and perhaps do a little Shakespeare. A mysterious bartender serves cocktails through a 10-foot high bookcase made entirely of black books. 100 prized novels are forever buried in an amber fluid in front of a royal throne. Other easter eggs are hidden throughout the room... Running Time: 90 minutes. Food & drink available. 21+ only. Photo ID required.

It gave me the feeling as if I were transported to the Globe Theater of Elizabethan England and I was part of the rabble in the pit at the front of the stage. But more hilarious, closer, more fun, comfier, better service, and better drinks. DRUNK SHAKESPEARE WAS BY FAR THE BEST OF OUR FOUR DAYS in NYC!!! HANDS DOWN!!! EVERYONE IN OUR GROUP AGREED!!! GO! AND BE DELIGHTED. Josh Hyman is hilarious, yes, that's his real name, and I should know, I touched his butt. Myself and two of my fellow late 50's girlfriends attended the 6pm on Sat. 7/20/19. We had just arrived in NYC for a 4-day visit that afternoon. It was the first thing we did. Our four days were packed with seeing the Broadway Show Beautiful, a two hour pedi-cab ride around Central Park, A luxurious lunch at Tavern on the Green, attendance at a taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and attendance to Live with Kelly & Ryan, all that in addition to hours and hours of walking and seeing some of the quintessential Manhattan landmarks like the M&M Store, Times Square, etc. etc... Yet Drunk Shakespeare gave us all the most JOY of all our adventures. It will remain our favorite memory from our trip. Yes, it is racy. Yes, it is crazy, Yes, you should be ready to be involved to maximize your fun. But it's also fun to watch ;-)

I was blown away by this show, which is based on a true story about a little town in Canada that rallied during 9/11 to host the stranded passengers from around the world. It is heart-warming & incredilbly uplifting!

Ain’t Too Proud

Reviewed By betsy1224

As a big fan of the Temptations and Motown groups in general, I was anxious to see Ain’t Too Proud. Those wonderful songs and talented cast made for an enjoyable experience. This is the fourth “jukebox musical” I’ve seen, and it’s much more dependent on the music than the acting of the other three. While everyone sings, the character of Otis does almost all the talking. Pretty thin plot, but if you’re going for the music, you won’t be disappointed.

Jagged Little Pill

Inspired by the themes and emotions of Alanis Morissette’s Grammy Award-winning album, JAGGED LITTLE PILL is “a big-hearted musical that breaks the mold” (The New York Times), directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin), with an “urgent and wickedly funny” (The Boston Globe) book by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody (Juno, Tully).

Wow, this is truly powerful. The casting is perfect. The storyline is very intense, and exemplified by music which further enhances the scene. It is a Broadway musical which will stick with you, and you want to see it again and again. You leave the theater feeling that is exactly what Broadway is about. Great acting, music, storyline, that only Broadway can give. I have seen most of the musicals out right now, and this one is definitely at the top of my list!

Good Morning America Studios

We watch GMA most days. We requested tickets about a month or so before our visit to NYC and got general admission tickets within an hour or so. We hoped to be upgraded to priority but were not. We arrived at the studio a little before 6 am on a very cold rainy day. It was actually easy to see where to line up and, we felt, very organized. Because there was virtually no one in the priority line we (and everyone near us) was upgraded to priority and got in fairly fast. Everyone we had contact with was very pleasant! It was so much fun to see behind the scenes! The warm-up guy worked very hard and really involved the audience. He was quite funny. Seeing the anchors was fun, seeing how it all works was both educational and enjoyable. We got good looks at all the anchors who were there that day. It was a high point of our visit to NYC. I highly recommend the experience as long as you accept some details, such as requesting tickets as soon as the date you want becomes available, the need to get there early, and the rules once you get in - such as using the bathroom before you get seated, not being able to leave and then renter and certain restrictions on using your cell phones. If you relax and embrace the experience you’ll have a great time!
