August 5, 2021 Franklyn Hardiman

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Big Apple Jazz Tours

Authentic Experiences to the heart of New York City! Since 1997 we have been on the front lines of the underground New York City jazz scene - taking small groups down into intimate basement joints where live jazz still thrives in neighborhood nightclubs from Harlem to Greenwich Village. Legendary players and clubs as well. All live music and transportation costs are included in the public tour price. Our jazz tours take place in Manhattan for the most part, but private tours to Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx can be arranged. Our goal is to offer the most intimate, small group tours available to Harlem and Greenwich Village neighborhood nightclubs and juke joints. We also provide insight into the Big Apple jazz scene as it has evolved over the past hundred years. Consider hiring Gordon Polatnick to take you on a private tour throughout the city during the day or night to experience the city's many intriguing neighborhoods at your pace and focusing on your interests. All ages welcome.

Great lounge. Well crafted cocktails and great whiskey selection. Wide array of cigars including house brands. No walk in. Cigars are expensive but if you buy one you can smoke your own. Must visit for any cigar smoker.

Great atmosphere in this small narrow bar. Plenty of history too. Photos from decades ago. Beer good and juke box.

We happened upon this bar whilst walking around near 5th Avenue looking for a spot of 'no fuss' lunch. The bar had a decent Vegetarian/Vegan offering and as non red meat eating people this was great. The Vegetarian burger was really good, the service was good and the pricing very reasonable - would recommend
