Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Here on a sunny Christmas Eve and quite warm as well, beautiful blue sky and a fabulous Park to walk around and look at the Statue of Liberty in the distance and to see the skyscrapers of the financial district with Wall Street just above the Park.

My friends and I met at the big steps in Brookfield Place, formerly called Winter Garden. It's a lovely quiet place to relax, with sky high palm trees and mixed marble floors. There are resraurants along the upper level. In winter, there's an iceskating rink outside. In summer, there is a tennis court there. You can reach it through the underground pass from the Oculus, or outside by passing the 9/11 memorial and then crossing West St. Take a stroll outside along the water in sunny weather.

The Lowline Lab is a long-term open laboratory and technical exhibit designed to test and showcase how the Lowline will grow and sustain plants underground. Built inside an abandoned market on the Lower East Side, just two blocks from the site of the proposed future Lowline, the Lowline Lab includes a series of controlled experiments in an environment mimicking the actual Lowline site.

What a great place to take a look at the Brooklyn skyline from across the river. Views of the Brooklyn Bridge ant the Watchtower Building are one of many pics you can take. It was also cool seeing all the private helicopters fly in and out of the Financial District. I can’t believe there are only two reviews of this hidden gem.
