Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

The theatre is delightful, small without a bad seat in the house. We sat in the last row which I believe was row 8 and had a perfect view. The seats are comfortable. There are steps up to the theatre and down two levels to the bar and restrooms. I’m not sure if there’s an elevator because we didn’t look for one. The theatre is adjacent to Union Square where you can visit the stalls of the green market for fresh produce and artisanal products like honey, soap, herbs. In December you’ll find the Christmas market selling arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing, toys. The area has many eateries to choose from. There is a parking garage opposite the theatre and numerous others nearby. I suggest you go online to reserve and prepay for parking. It will save you a good bit of money to do so. Go early to stroll Union Square and enjoy a good meal before seeing the show.

The Stand comedy club and restaurant located in Union Square, considered by many the heartbeat of New York City brings you the best comedians working today with delectable dishes and unique cocktails to match. New Yorkers can now enjoy great comedy seven nights a week paired with our food from Executive Chef, Harold Villarosa. Our bi-level venue provides patrons with the option of having dinner and drinks before and after a show guaranteeing an experience like no other.
I was in town for one night for business, and although I should have gotten rest for my meeting the following day, I decided on a last-minute whim to go have some drinks and see some comedy. I had heard a lot of good things about The Stand from listening to podcasts with various NYC comedians. The Stand completely delivered in all respects. I happened to be in town on a Monday night - unfortunately, no LoS taping that night, but there was a free show hosted by Kerryn Feehan and Aaron Berg that night. Even though it was the free Monday show, I knew most of the lineup and there were a couple of surprises in the mix. Every comic was funny - I had a great time. Service at the bar was also friendly and prompt. One tip - lacking creativity, I ordered a basic drink where the name is in the format of "[mixer] and [drink]." I immediately got the sense that the bartenders were of the higher-skilled variety, such that my order seemed off putting to them (probably correctly - again, lack of thought and creativity on my part). I would recommend not doing what I did, but rather engaging the bartenders and letting them use their skills. Although the menu looks really good, I did not have any food this time. Hopefully my next trip will be less whim-based and I can actually plan out a dinner and show in advance.
