Truly inspiring and beautifully imagined small, privately owned and operated museum. Owners own personal collections ignite memories from childhood and almost forgotten 20thc artefacts....Lovely intimate place, amazing value at $4. Dont forget to check out the shop where you can buy a fabulous hand-hewn wooden jigsaw too:)

May Gibbs' Nutcote is the former house and garden of May Gibbs, one of Australia's foremost children's authors and illustrators and creator of Australia's classic children's' story Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Nutcote was designed by prominent architect B. J. Waterhouse and built for May Gibbs and her husband, James Ossili Kelly, in 1925. May occupied the house for 44 years until her death in 1969. The house has been listed on the Register of the National Estate and has been furnished to reflect the style of the 1920s and 1930s and includes effects owned by May Gibbs, such as her easel, paint box and folio stand.
We, our group of 17 seniors, were given a tour of Nutcote with the history of May Gibbs and her children's books. We dressed up in gumnut hats, saw May Gibbs explaining her life on a video and sat in the garden to view the harbour. We all had stories to relate of reading Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and saw some of her old books. The little house was delightful. We had lunch in the cafe and bought at the souvenir shop. This place is a piece of Australia's history.

Science Space brings over 100 interactive exhibits, Science Shows, Workshops and Australia’s #1 Planetarium to the Illawarra region.
Great three hours with the family at Science Space. Kids loved all the interactive exhibits and reckoned it was much better than ‘Early Start Discovery Place’. Only slight negative is the on-site cafe which Is very basic. Suggest dining elsewhere although I was told there is a proper cafe very near which is pretty good.

My little girl loves this place and never seems to get sick of it. I love the convenience of it and the cafe attached.

We are an art museum. We present exhibitions of the best local, national, and international art. We are learning new things. We offer opportunities to meet artists, to play, to make art, to explore ideas We are ever changing. We always have something new to see or a new way to see it. We are an escape. From the everyday, from the weather. We are art, caffeine, gifts and unexpected experiences. We are on Wiradjuri country. We are open every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day. The museum is free to enter. We have 5 or 6 exhibitions at any one time. Once a year we may have a major exhibition with an entry free, but the rest of the museum is always free.
More please. What a very pleasant and enjoyable, little regional art gallery. An interesting collection on display for our visit, an Olley, a Kadinsky, a Conder, modern, period, installation... Something for everyone and anyone. The building too is pleasant, light and volumous. But I wanted more. It was all over too soon.

The Peppin Heritage Centre is located at the Deniliquin Visitor Information Centre on George Street, Deniliquin.
The Peppin Heritage Centre is just chock a block full of local history.Operated by a band of enthusiastic volunteers. Initially upon entering, local produce and books are for sale. Next move into the current exhibition and then move further on into the "vaults of Deniliquin history" the local heritage. Read all about the sheep stations and the families that made the Riverina the great agriculture area it is. Did you know the first sheep from South Africa didn't have wool but had hair. That fact and many others makes this an absolutely essential place to visit. Then pop next door to the Crossing for a repast. Down in the Riverina couldn't get any better.
