Things to do in New Forest National Park Hampshire, England: The Best Nature & Wildlife Tours

July 31, 2021 Major Galusha

If you need a word to perfectly describe New Forest, “welcoming” would be it. The lowland (i.e. no mountains) park is filled with scenic views and wide trails that beg to be explored as they wind through centuries-old woodlands. Visit Bolderwood, a protected forest and deer sanctuary that was once the hunting grounds of the Norman kings. Fish at Moors Valley before heading skyward for a treetops walk. Prefer the country-house life? Head to Beaulieu, where you can get lost in the Victorian-era at the Palace House before following in the footsteps of medieval monks at the property’s abbey.

I have lived in the New Forest for nearly 40 years and have come to know and love it. It has hidden jewels in the grass - you have to learn to see them. I have trained in mindfulness and horse awareness and have my own horses. Living in the New Forest allows me to see it every day and in all seasons; learning new things all the time and understanding the importance of connecting with our environment. Conservation of this fabulous area is so important - relish and protect are my bywords.

Hi.. I discovered Needle Felting 5 years ago and I am totally hooked! Now a member of The International Feltmakers Association I have been teaching Needle Felting here in the New Forest, incorporating local wool and materials (where possible) to small groups of people to allow great support and inclusiveness. Every workshop has lots of instruction, creativity, fun and laughter with tea and cake too!!! This is a fantastic craft that will leave you wanting more!!!
