Upper Charles Bike Trail

Reviewed By Travellinguy2013 - Dallas, United States

This paved path goes along the course of the Charles river head waters, and an old granite transport rail way, with some informational signs along the way. Where it crosses the very busy route 85, there is an automatic crossing light. There is a parking lot at one end and about two mile trail that passes a couple nice ponds and ends up in downtown Milford.

Farmington Canal Heritage Trail

Reviewed By MarkfromtheIsland - Duncan, Canada

I wish we had one of these near my home. This appears to be an old railway trail that's been paved for bike and pedestrian traffic. My wife and I were looking for a hike today but as it had rained heavily yesterday we weren't into the state park scene - too muddy and slippery for rock scrambling. So we opted for a 10k walk on this 130k trail. We picked it up near the Tuxipin park (or something like that) and walked towards town - about 5k. It ran along a river and was separated from the houses either by greenspace or fence. Quite a gem to have in your backyard

Mountain Division Trail

If your looking for a walk and dont want to be up and down in the woods this is a GREAT walk. As someone said it is paved, it does follow and old rail track and there are many interesting things to see along the way. We got about half way before we turned around because it started to get dark but we loved it and we hope to be able to get back and walk the entire thing back and forth. There were a few other walkers, a biker and a jogger. All friendly. We really loved it and there is a bunch of free parking.

Elizabeth Park

This walkers' haven, with several gardens along its wildflower trail, a lovely pond and sports and concert facilities, is best known for its magnificent rose garden, with 800 varieties of roses.

Reviewed By Waterfallz

This is a beautiful park with lovely pond and famous Rose Gardens; also Heirloom Rose Garden and stunning Shade Gardens, Tulip Gardens, Perennial Garden, Iris Garden, Herb Garden and more. The accreditation of Elizabeth Park's Kim Arboretum occurred in 2019. Wedding ceremonies in the Rose Garden and other gardens are frequent. The Pond House Restaurant has (seasonal) outdoor seating options as well as indoor seating year round. Food is very good; decor is eclectic - something for everyone - and reasonably priced. There is also a lovely wedding/event venue in the building. There are well-used walking trails, green houses, a playground and more.

Fisherman's Walk

Reviewed By mcdedrick - Albany, United States

A really fun and beautiful walk, especially on a crisp fall day. We walked from our B & B, the Inn at Tanglewood Hall, and going over the Wiggly Bridge and back through the nature preserve was a 4 mile round trip. An easy walk. The cliff trail was closed out of COVID concerns but easy to social distance on Fisherman’s Walk.
