New Delhi is all at once chaotic and calm, a complicated city where cows often wander the shanty-lined streets. The 17th century Red Fort is a mass of domes and turrets, while Chandni Chowk is an exercise in friendly haggling. Jantar Mantar features larger-than-life sundials and astronomical instruments that are still used to predict the weather. Travelers and locals flock to the India Gate, the national monument of India that honors the soldiers who died in World War I and the Third Afghan War.

Established in 1789, in a winding by-lane of Chandni Chowk known today as Dariba Kalan, we pride ourselves on being one of the oldest jewellers in Delhi, carrying forward an unmatched legacy built on the tenets of trust, purity, quality and commitment. Having started with humble beginnings as a small silver shop in what is now Asia’s largest jewellery market; today we offer a wide, but highly curated, range of products that include gold, silver, diamonds, and other precious metals. For over 220 years and spanning across seven generations—in a city that was built, destroyed, and rebuilt several times—we have been an indelible part of Delhi’s history. Run till present as a tightly-held family unit, our firm has now seen seven generations.

We have visited Gulab Singh several times, and will continue to come here for our perfume oils, incense and oil burners. The owners of Gulab Singh are extremely knowledgeable, and have an extensive range of fragrances available. The quality is unquestionable, the fragrances last for years (if you haven't finished the bottle already), and we were able to blend some of our own fragrances too! Make sure you allow enough time to enjoy sampling the perfumes!!

Stopped here on my trip to India in February and really love the place, staff speak English really well which is really useful for what you are there for, whether you want to buy the spices for someone else or for something to cook on your own. Great selection of teas as well as mentioned in other reviews. I wish I had more room in my bag to take more home! The place has been in business for over 100 years, be sure to stop by!
