With German names on the street signs, summer bier gartens and the annual Wurstfest, New Braunfels blends the character of its German namesake with the charm and beauty of Texas Hill Country. Old World heritage is abundant in the Historic District of Gruene, featuring the ruins of the original Gristmill and live music at the Gruene Hall. Those in search of more modern fun can check out the Schlitterbahn waterpark, spelunk in the Natural Bridge Caverns or test the waters at Canyon Lake.

Love going here. Cool little market that has all kinds of stuff. From food to crafts to clothes. From fresh veggies to food you can eat there or take home to heat up. They have crafts like pottery and glassware. Also clothes. Nice atmosphere and convenient location downtown New Braunfels.

New Braunfels Candle Company was established with the idea of bringing quality, clean burning, soy candles into your home. Each candle is hand poured and packaged in our New Braunfels, Texas shop using 100% U.S. grown soy wax, cotton-core wicks, fine fragrance oils and apothecary inspired packaging. Handmade soaps, essential oils, great gifts, bath bombs and shower steamers. We love our customers!

Historical store that still operates as a general gift store. Lots of Texas items, gourmet foods, fudge, nostalgic candy, t-shirts, mugs, caps, ornaments and other gift items.
On our journey through Gruene we stopped in here and I purchased an armadillo sink strainer plus two Texas themed children’s books. Store is loaded with gift items. Inside is very cute plus they have a Penny smasher!!

Fantastic selection and great people there. LOTS of different things, antiques, etc. The MOST fantastic wind chimes (from small to HUGE) you've ever seen and heard. We bought the soprano set -- someday we'll get the huge ones you have to hang from a tree!

We stayed in Gruene over the weekend and I was SO impressed by the historical-looking photos on display at our hotel. Turns out they were taken at Smiling Eyes so we simply had to try them out. The two sisters running the operation were really fun and outfitted us like real gangsters, complete with awesome costumes, fake guns, and other great props. I was really surprised at how reasonable their prices were. We loved the entire photography session and the great photo we ended up with.

All things olive oil and balsamic vinegars! Found a delightful coconut balsamic vinegar. And even a small selection of chocolates and truffles.
