The Distillery is a happy place! Come visit Nevada's first craft distillery, enjoy our spirits, the stories and meet The Copper Angels. Cheers!
What an unexpected gem this was! We did the tour and all-in tasting. We learned a lot about the process of distilling. Our tour was with the owner who was very informative and fun. The custom designed imported equipment from Germany was beautiful. The tasting was fun and we all enjoyed the many varieties of vodka, gin, whiskey and liquors we were able to sample. Can't wait to go again and introduce other family members to the experience.

The tasting and tour was a sampling of their various spirits, alongside a history and production description of each offering, as we toured their facility. Nick was extremely knowledgeable, and was willing to answer any and all questions we asked. Even though I’m not a drinker, I enjoyed the educational value in and if itself. My wife enjoyed all aspects of the tour/tasting, and ended up purchasing a bottle of their signature gin.

Most Nevadans don’t spend time in Fallon. It’s on the road between Reno and Las Vegas, but is a treasure for a couple of reasons: Hearts of Gold cantaloupes (available around Labor Day) and Frey Ranch Distillery. I had learned about the Distillery in November 2016, at a charity food and beverage show in Reno, received a generous offer from Russ (distiller) to come and visit when my travels between Reno and Las Vegas brought me by the Ranch, and finally made the trip from Reno to Fallon to take the tour and sample crafted beverages on 9/30. From the moment we arrived, Andy (distiller) treated us like we were his lost family members, proudly showing us the distilling equipment, sage bushes out front used to make their special Nevada gin, the barrel house where some different gin is barrel finished and where future releases of their estate bourbon is now aging. He gave us a walking tour of the operation, explaining sourcing of grains and natural flavoring, fate of spent grains/mash, and their “green approach.” This wasn’t a big factory tour, but a truly insiders experience for just 2 of us, alone with Andy. After learning about the production of their unique spirits we were invited to sample estate wines (2 whites and 1 red) and spirits (vodka, 2 gins, brandy and absinthe). Our hostess, Ashley (Ashley and her husband operate the ranch and live in the “big house”) explained each beverage we sampled, and offered tasting notes. She gave us an overview of future plans and new products becoming available in the coming year. Because I mentioned that I knew they made gin with pine nuts for another label, she “revealed” that she did have some bottles onsite if I wanted it. Wow! Nearby Lattin Farms provided a final stop on my way back to Reno, so my car returned loaded with Fallon melons, squash, wine and spirits. Many thanks to Andy and Ashley, they were gracious and informative.

I was out for a walk when I spotted 10 TORR. Lucky me! I had a very pleasant visit and an excellent Hop Tramp IPA. Service at the bar was very helpful and smiling, always a good sign. Tables are both indoors and outdoors and spread out nicely, important given these times. Very clean and modern facilities, and quite airy with the high ceiling. I can't speak for the distilled products, but I look forward to visiting again and trying more brews. BTW, I visited on a Sunday afternoon which fortunately turned out to be Happy Hour prices. Winning! 2 thumbs up!

I toured the distillery and tasting room and I was beyond impressed with the way the facility is run, the LEED certification that both of the historic buildings have (that in itself is impressive), the beautiful & artistic touches in the Tasting Room, the amazing equipment (check out all the copper machinery!). And then there are the actual products - top notch! We did a taste test of all the spirits: - Juniper Grove gin was super clean and had a delightful taste, whiskey - I'm not a fan of brown booze but this I could drink in a Manhattan anyday. - Source One Vodka -(the king of the Clear booze, in my opinion) Both were amazing and I especially the oak sherry cask vodka - lovely flavor & of course, the shade of color makes it interesting. Great to see Bently take the lead with such an amazing establishment.
