These Bhuddist caves date back to the 1st century BC. The caves are considered to be amongst the earliest example of Bhuddist rock-cut architecture and an important source of historical record of the development of Bhuddist religious practices as it evolved up the 6th century CE. There are 24 four caves in total, all of which are cut into the hill of Trirasmi and requires a bit of climbing to see them all, but nothing I thought was too strenuous. Cave number 3 is the biggest, one of the most important and most richly decorated of all the caves One of the best things to see in Nashik

This place is in the brahmagiri hills which is about 5 KM from Trambakeshwar town. Take an auto upto the base of the hill and from there climb upto 300 steps up to reach the cave. Take a guide because there are lots of monkeys which attack tourists at times. The guide will chase those. In side the cave Gorakhnath's chimta and other accessories are there . There are two segments of the cave. The front and interior. A sadhubaba sits in front segment of the cave and will bless the visitor with ash. You can donate as per your wish.

Sita Gumpha (Cave) is located in Panchavati area. Photography is not allowed inside caves. Route to reach for Darshan is quite interesting. You have to enter in Cave on knees or sometimes all most by crawling. Nice to visit this place.
