Equitrails Namibia really offers the full package. From livery stables, to riding lessons, to beautiful outrides. My horse is boarded at Equitrails Namibia and I have been fortunate to join many of the outrides, especially the Sun Downer rides and they are amazing! From Dams, to bush, to mountains, to wildlife viewing (kudus, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, many different birds, steenboks, tortoises, jackals). Everything you could possibly want, including a cheeky Gin and Tonic to round it off! Sam's horses are all in tip-top condition and extremely well cared for and happy. Sam is very careful about pairing each horse and rider appropriately. She caters for all ages and levels, from complete beginners to experienced riders. Her compassion and knowledge is second-to-none, both as an instructor and a guide. She is, without a doubt, the best riding instructor and guide I have ever known. Anyone lucky enough to join one of Sam's rides will not regret it! It's a truly wonderful and magnificent experience.

Horse Trails & Farm Life GROSS OKANDJOU is Namibia's first Western Riding Ranch & Namibian Western Horse Stud. The farm started off as a typical Namibian cattle farm. Today Gross Okandjou is home to about 60 horses that are handled according to Natural Horsemanship principles. Here you can enjoy the Namibian spirit on the back of a well trained Western Horse and experience life on a typical farm. Riding season is from January to November. Riders max. weight 85 kg. Full board accommodation. Minimum booking is 2 nights.

We did a 2 hour ride in the late afternoon. Wesley was our guide and was excellent, he tailored the trip to meet our needs. We found the horses to be really well trained and cared for. The geography and scenery is interesting and the whole experience is great. Highly recommend it as part of enjoying the activities around Swak.

Dusternbrook Guest Farm near Windhoek is open year-round. We offer an attractive, varied, and interesting combination of activities for a few hours. However, you can easily spend a whole day here.
