Christmas plays until December 29 at the Kirby Theatre on the campus of Drew University. The Shakespeare Festival ends its season with a beautifully rendered production of Dickens "A CHRISTMAS CAROL". Delight in all the past memories of Christmas past, the sadness of Christmas present and the fear of Christmas to be. Relish the transformation of Ebeneezer Scrooge as he morphs from a mean, stingy old man into a man many years younger in spirit and full of hope and giving to those in need. Whether on film or on stage, Scrooge's transformation is always a joy to behold. As always, with this brilliant group of actors, directors and designers, the evening or matinee leaves the audience with the pleasure of having been a part of a great theatrical experience.. Still time to catch this wonderful Christmas tradition. No humbug this!

We love to bring the grandkids. The acting is great and they never disappoint. You can tell everyone puts their heart into each play including the stagehands. It's a nice little small theater with popcorn. after each show we are allowed to shake hands with all the actors.

We go to Mayo 2 or 3 times a year and have always enjoyed the shows. They have a large selection of shows to choose from during the year so there is something that should please everyone. The theater is comfortable with good sound system especially for an older building. Parking is convenient especially if have dinner before a show, you can park next door. There are public lots not far from the theater as well as other lots from which there are shuttles. The last show we saw was Celtic Angels. It was entertaining with 5 women singers with beautiful voices. There was a wonderful fiddle player as well as 5 extradordinary male dancers. Celtic angels similar to Celtic Woman with maybe singing more recent Irish songs intetmixed with some traditional ballads. There was one odd issue is that for a few seconds bright lights from the stage would shine directly into the audience making it difficult to see. Mayo is higher recommended.

The Barn Theatre

Reviewed By EricAndOlaf - West Milford, United States

An amazing place! High quality performances right in your own back yard. The performers, both actors and musicians, give it their all, and match their Broadway counterparts. The seating is in a wide arc around the stage and only a few rows deep, so everyone gets a good view. The times I've been there have always been open seating (i think thats all they do), so you can select the seat thats best for you. Overall, always a good experience.
