Fabulous way to spend a couple of hours on the Mornington Peninsular!!! Gin class that was fun and informative. Plenty of tasting and you get to make your own gin. Leave your car at home (or leave it there like we did!!!). If you love gin, you’ll have the time of your life!! Gin isn’t just for breakfast anymore!!!!

Mock Red Hill

Found this while looking for somewhere to have dinner on NYE (on TripAdviser - a wide search). Decided to drop in on the way to Sorrento - not such a detour (from Mount Martha) when you consider the traffic on the coast road. Very friendly people and the food we had (ham+cheese sanger and an apple donut) were yummy. Will definitely have to go back to try the ploughman's lunch. The ciders were a mixed bag - as I'm new to cider it might not be a fair review. The first (Classic?) was definitely the most interesting (cool smell and cool taste on first try, but a wonderful sweetish, tangy aftertaste that lasted and lasted). The next one was a little sweeter and more forward, with no so much of an aftertaste. The pear/apple was terribly dangerous, not super complex, but not too sweet and something that could just be drunk continually... And the sweet one, well it was nice, but too sweet for my tastes. The sparkling apple was OK - but I'd probably want it in litre bottles to take-away. And the vinegar was superb! quite astringent, but with lots of apple flavour. Almost too acidic to drink straight but we loved it. Bought some of the special (Dry?) which may have gone by now and the classic, plus a bottle of vinegar and some cherries. Only about 10 minutes from home, so will keep an eye on the website for new and interesting releases...and the vinegar.

JimmyRum

JimmyRum is a craft rum distillery with an audacious goal, to change the way Australians think about rum. Uncomplicated, unpretentious, and unruly, we've created JimmyRum's that are distinctive and downright delicious.

On holiday with our twin 18 year old boys in Rosebud and saw Thursday night trivia on Mornington peninsula event website. Couldn't have had a better night! Made to feel very welcome from moment we walked in. 9 tables in total for trivia, one with young kids, so families very welcome. Orders for pizzas taken quickly. $18.50 per pizza included a drink (rum, wine, beer, soft etc) Pizzas out quickly and were huge and delicious! Highly recommend the Barbados Rum and coke! Family liked the Mojitos!!!!! Trivia night was a lot of fun and we ended up winning due to the picture questions being airline logos - I worked for Air Traffic Control and new nearly all of them. $50 distillery voucher! Staff were very efficient and friendly. Would recommend the trivia night to anyone looking for a fun night!!!
