Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Dig in to a massive plate of poutine to fuel up for a tour of the epic Olympic Park.

This major plaza in Old Montreal, built in the 17th century, once served as the training grounds for the military.
...bordered by the National Bank headquarters, (building by the famous dutch architect Mies Van der Rohe), Notre Dame basilica, one of Montreal’s most historically important and visited church and home of many concerts and artistic performances, and the Bank of Montreal building, noble and classical in design, the Place d’Armes is a showcase of Montreal’s architecture. Steps away from City Hall, our library, Old Montreal, several restaurants and hotels, Place d’ Armes remains one of Montreal’s most favorite meeting places for locals and tourists alike. An absolute must as it adequately exhibits Montreal’s elegance and “joie de vivre”.

Christ Church Cathedral is the mother church for the Anglican Diocese of Montreal. It has stood on St Catherine Street since 1859 and has witnessed much of the development of downtown Montréal. It is both a place of beauty and peace as well as the home of a thriving community, working to support those in need in the local area. CCC is famous for the quality of its choral tradition and many concerts also take place in the Cathedral.
This cathedral is located near the downtown area and is a hidden gem. The outside architecture is beautiful and one can see the antiquities inside this cathedral. Admission is free. Certainly very highly recommended to visit.

This particular Nelson’s Column is fascinating as it was erected much before the one in Trafalgar Square in London. Certainly worth watching and for taking pics.
