Island full of beautiful beaches, popular with tourists.
Had a great time visiting Isla Coronado. A magical place where wildlife abounds and the water is crystal clear. My husband and I went with Francisco Mayoral who took us to see dolphins, dorado, frigate birds, the infamous boobies, sea lions, and a spectacular array of flora. I highly recommend this captain and this trip. It really made our stay in Loreto a special vacation.

At over 6,000 feet above sea level, this is one of the highest lakes in the world.
You'll experience the traditional and more modern takes on the Day of the Dead. We started our Day of the Dead odyssey in Tzintzuntzan and it gets super crowded on November 1st. The cemetery is packed and welcoming. Towards the end of the evening dozens of large busses arrive to take day trippers back where they came. Instead we headed to Pacanda and Yunuen. The residents spend the night in the cemetery in a very traditional heartwarming celebration. From Yunuen we went to Patzcuaro on November 2nd and enjoyed the traditional artisans market. We walked to the cemetery and observed families spending the day with their loved ones. it was crowded buy calm and beautiful. www.MonarchOdyssey will be again offering tours to the area for the Days of the Dead in 2020.

Since its development in 1970, this island has become a man-made paradise and wildlife reserve.
We booked this thru Sunwing Vacations on our first all inclusive vacation in Mexico. We had s great day we were picked up by our tour guide at our hotel Holiday Inn Resort. It was approximately 15 minute drive to where we were dropped off with our tour guide to the water taxi to Ixtapa Island. It was a 5 minute walk to the area for snorkeling. Our package included transportation from and to our Resort water Taxi to and from Ixtapa island our snorkeling gear 1hr guided tour around the reef. We were able to snorkel on our own as well. It was moderate activity. Lunch and a beverage water beer or soda was included in our package price. It was a great day friendly tour guide snd snorkel guide. The food at Lili's restaurant was amazing. We were sble to see so many types of fish feeding on the coral reef. The tour was 5hrs in total. Picked up at 9:30am and dropped off by 4pm. We were on Ixtapa island fm 10am-3pm. It was good value.

Island on the River Cuale overlooked by Gringo Gulch.
The Isla Cuale is an island in the mouth of a river that is basically a flea market with a lot of different vendors and restaurants. There is a tequila distillery at the mouth of the river and at the back of the island is a cultural museum. When we went the museum was closed but it looked like it would have been interesting. I had read about this place ahead of time and so I was expecting the vendors to be a little more pushy and they definitely were. When you start looking at something in any of the shops the vendor will immediately get up and follow you around. You can haggle anything as well. Some of them aren’t as aggressive, but it’s kind of expected when you have that many people selling basically all the same things right next to each other. I didn’t really like haggling because for the most part the items are cheaper then they would be if I were buying it at home. I haggled with a guy for a ladle holder for my kitchen because he was like 400 pesos which is $20 USD and I could have bought it cheaper at home. It was fun though and something I really wanted to go see. I would recommend to go and see the shops and eat lunch by the river. The river cafe was really good and enjoy this area, just know what to expect.
