This club located in the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel features a mariachi show.
I stayed in the Sheraton Maria Isabel in Mexico City probably 40 or 50 times over 7 years. The service at Bar Jorongo was always excellent. The quality of the multiple mariachi bands that performed each night was outstanding. There wasn't a cover charge if you are hotel guest, but it would be well worth it. Don't miss it. The hotel is on La Reforma next to Ángel de la Independencia statue. Just across the street from La Zona Rosa tourist area, but I preferred walking a couple blocks the other way where I found better restaurants.

I had an excellent time on a Thursday night at Zinco. I had made a reservation, which put me into a slightly shorter and faster line to get in. This is like a Hollywood movie set of a jazz club, but that is just great. Literally subterranean and dark. The band that night played old black U.S. blues like BB King, Ray Charles, they sang in English and quite well. Actually the band knocked me out. Food: I went there partly because I knew they served rib. With a bottle of red wine they were really good. Finally, half-crocked, I walked the three blocks back to my hotel at about midnight. If there were any danger I'm sure I would have run into, since I look like an easy target at 68 years old with a walking stick!! Perfectly safe, cops everywhere (2 per block), a lively night out. I'M LYING ABOUT THE DATE ON THIS REVIEW. THE TRIP WAS IN FEB. 2019 BUT I COULDN'T GO THIS YEAR, SO I AM FONDLY REMEMBERING. FORGIVE ME.
