The pillar of remembrance, set up to honor the heroes of the independence so long ago. It remains a beautiful symbol and worth seeing if you are in the area. Pay some respect to those who risked everything for Mexico.

This is a large monument, very attractive. I was interested in the fact that Pauncho Villa and other revolutionaries were actually buried there.

Monumento a los Ninos Heroes

A monument honoring six young men killed while trying to defend a military academy.

As a US citizen and historian, I felt the need to pay my respects at this monument to the brave boys who refused to let an invasive, imperialist army from my nation capture the flag or themselves. I am happy to have seen this monument, and spoken a few quite words to the souls of these long lost heroes. There is no greater patriotism than what they had and I hold them in the highest regard. Angel De La Independencia

This was a great place to spend a couple hours during the day and at night. People gather here to chat, eat and socialize with friends and family. On Sundays, the entire road is closed for runners and cyclists, and a lot of people gather here to participate in some of the many activities the city organizes. A must for anyone visiting Mexico City.
