We rented a pontoon July 3rd from Tom at Bayto Bay to kick off the 4th of July holiday and took 9 friends on a cocktail cruise around Lake Minnetonka. Everything was perfect! The staff does all the hauling and lifting of our all our stuff(bags, coolers etc) the boat was in new condition, clean, and had an easy to use porta potty a big plus. Tom takes his time to educate you on the lake, channels and bouts so when we headed out we had not a care in the world. This is so much better than owning a boat- it's has a full tank of gas (included in the cost of the rental) life jackets, fire extinguisher, blue tooth for our music, and if a I mention a porta potty! I would highly reccomend Bay to Bay to anyone wanting to spend sometime on a beautiful lake, in a beautiful boat and have everything taken care of for you.

It was a lovely September afternoon, leaves were starting to turn colors and the water was calm. As we rented our canoes and kayaks at Lake Calhoun we anticipated paddling around the lake before us, however, we were pleasantly surprised by the small water passages under arched bridges taking us to other small lakes and scenic byways lined by the colorful fall foliage. There were areas that were breathtakingly beautiful and almost storybook like. We saw turtles on logs, lilypads and a heron (we think). As one byway opened up to yet another lake we heard classical music.....as we paddled towards it, we saw a large group of professional dancers (ballet/contempory dance?) practicing in the back yard of a large lake side home. We were delighted to watch and clapped loudly for them as the musical piece and their dance concluded. (I would have given them a standing ovation if not for fear of tipping the canoe:)) Where else can one paddle on a lake and feel like they are getting into nature and away from the city and see skyscrapers on the horizon? The next time we visit we will be sure to do this again and then we will also rent bikes! The area is SO pretty with many scenic bike trails as well! It was a most lovely afternoon and money well spent!
