As the first place in Spain to see the sunrise, Minorca is like the country’s ambassador to the morning. Beaches here are beautiful and, surprisingly, relatively empty. The jewel-colored water is a magnet for waterskiers, windsurfers and sailors. Playa De Binigaus beach is perfect for families, while Cala Mitjana is an idyllic spot for romance. Head to the town of Alaoir to nibble on some fresh local cheese or turn back time in the charming fishing village of Fornells.

Great experience. Take the yellow boat at 10h00 from Mahon (Maó) and come visit this historic island with guided visit from local lovers of their history. The "Isla del Rey" is being restructered since 2014 by local voluntaries giving of their free time in order to give back to the place the greatness it deserves. Come visit it without hesitation. We bought two tickets for €5 each at the Cathedral (which is beautiful) and then wondered over to the museum. My kids, who are 9 and 7, got in for free, which was a nice touch. The museum is fascinating, the building has a peaceful quality, the grounds are tranquil and it was a lovely experience for the while family. I'd definitely recommend it.

Travel to the past and authentic rural Menorca life. Animals and actors period dressed show the ancient field work: ploughing, sowing, milking, making cheese... and other attractions like a waterwheel, a show of folk dance and a tasting of traditional products. A cultural offer, suitable for all audiences, that complement the museum-houses, the natural sciences museum of Menorca and the restaurant. Check the hours of the different activities in our web-site. An unforgettable excursion.
We visited Binissues on Wednesday and we had a fantastic time. This place has been improved beyond measure since our last visit about 10 years ago and they now do an amazing interactive show about traditional Menorca farming which is run by a lovely young couple who involve the audience and make it a relaxed fun way to spend an afternoon ( we went to the 6 pm show). They demonstrate bread making in a traditional Menorca stove, cheese making, milking a cow etc. Cannot recommend highly enough. Apart from the show, the large house is beautiful and a museum in itself, and there is also a very interesting natural history exhibition with specimens of various butterflies and bugs etc to look round. A lovely Restaurant and snack bar with great views and reasonable prices. Suitable for all ages. Will definately return.

The palace, which faces the Cathedral of Ciutadella, has been recently restored by the owner, the last descendants of the noble Olivar family. It is a must for those who wish to learn how the aristocratic families were living in the old capital of Menorca. The family still lives in the palace, but most of it can be visited. The visitors will enjoy amazing rooms with frescos, paintings, furniture and objects from the old times. In the cellar, the family found a cave with original bottles of wine from the XVIII century, many of them which are still sealed. The visitor will also find the original book that an ancestor of the Olivar family wrote containing the details about the negotiations from releasing the 3000 captive citizens of Ciutadella who were kidnapped by the Turks in 1558 to be sold as slaves on the market of Constantinople.
