Known best for its wine, Mendoza is a bustling city to the east of Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere. Although it draws its share of adventure travelers, lured by the climbing, skiing, hiking and rafting opportunities within an easy drive of downtown, the area’s more than 1,000 vineyards bring oenophiles in even greater numbers.

Situated in Mendoza, in the middle of the Andes, by the Mendoza River, the Thermal Spa smoothly blends in with the Mendocinian landscape. A group of stone pools are combined with modern hydrotherapy equipment to allow the guest enjoy both the thermal water and the natural surroundings. The program for the day includes a full day, from 10:00 to 18:00hs and the exclusive Criollo Lunch Buffet. Kids under 14 years old are not allowed.
These natural thermal pools and spa are located alongside the Mendoza river, approximately 1 hour drive from Mendoza city. The cost (~43US$ per person) to visit the pools includes a lunch buffet which reportedly is really nice but we had lunch plans at a nearby winery so we didn't eat there. If you want to visit the thermal pools only without having to pay for the lunch then you can only do it in the afternoon (from 3-6:30 pm). Upon arriving to the spa we were greeted, checked in and provided information about the facility. Robes are available for rent and the cost is 100 Argentinian pesos for each robe. These are not really necessary while you're enjoying the pools, however you will need to have either a robe or be fully clothed once you enter the restaurant area. After checking in we were given a tour of the facilities and then taken to the locker room/changing area which is also where the bathrooms, showers and saunas are. There are several pools, both covered and uncovered, each with varying temperatures which go from lukewarm to really hot water, a mud therapy area, a wet and a natural sauna, as well as lounging chairs. The pools are surrounded by mountains and there is so much greenery all around, truly a beautiful sight that makes this experience that much more memorable. The drive to this place is totally worth it as it is an amazing spot for total relaxation, however if we were to visit again we probably would consider staying in the hotel for one night so we had more time to enjoy the pools and schedule some spa services.

Relax and reconnect amid the splendor of Latin America’s first and only authentic traditional hamam. A tranquil sanctuary anchored by the ancient Turkish rituals of cleansing and relaxation, the hamam rids the body of accumulated toxins and relaxes the mind. Enjoying the Hamam experience has always been at the heart of life for some of the wisest Eastern cultures. Both men and women use thermal baths as part of their daily ritual to purify and relax the mind, body & soul. The ritual of the Hamam experience becomes a communal meeting place. In ancient Arabic, Hamam means heat. An authentic Hamam experience welcomes the guest with several stages of heat: including humidity, steam and temperature controlled relaxing rooms. Here heat penetrates the body deeply to detoxify both tissue and cells. The stimulation of the body's metabolism relaxes the body to a wonderful state connecting the mind, body and spirit.
