Known best for its wine, Mendoza is a bustling city to the east of Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere. Beautiful daily walk if you want to explore Parque General San Martin and climb up to Cerro de la Gloria. You can go by foot all the way (not for everyone), on a bike, or maybe just take the bus if you want and hop off at the monuments base. The General San Martin monument was closed to the public, so was the toilets at the top (hope they fix everything soon), anyway the view at the top its breathtaking and worth every step of the way.

Astonishing place, just 1 hour from Mendoza city, if you can go by car is better because you can freely choose between stops and the distances are far for walking. On the other hand you can take a bus (AR$81 by ticket) and hop off on the second stop (the first one after Cacheuta). The Dam itself its a marvelous lake with blue waters and high mountains you can see the Aconcagua from certain places.It becomes the perfect activity for a whole day, pack some food, beverages and a speaker if you want, invite some friends over and enjoy. Just be cautious of the sun there is no shading. Some spots has kayak and other rental activities for the day.

First the park is immense, very green, safe and clean. Lots of giants trees allow to rest in the shadow in a warm day. the fountain architecture is awesome.

This beautiful french iron wrought gates were damaged a couple of years ago but subsequently repaired and painted. Are very attractive and a good opening for the wonderful park that lays behind, and right in front of the Marley horses.
