Paco the Younger arranged a wonderful, personal tour of his family owned land. His father, Paco the Elder, over the last forty years has replanted a farm with nothing but native species. The result is a nature preserve with lots of animals and birds (some rare) and two Paco's who love nature to tell you about what you are seeing. They are lovely people who are very well informed, in contact with scientists from around the world, who want to show you the richness of nature just a 5 minute drive from the urbanized part of Mazatlan. Call to find out when you can visit. Note that part of the property is being developed as an ecologically sound subdivision.

This is a wonderful beach for long walks with views of the ocean and islands off the coast. Great for swimming, sunbathing or strolling. This is a wonderful place to watch the sunset. Go for a long walk and enjoy being in Mexico.

Beach located in the Golden Zone.
We walked the beach from the Malecon to the Marina (1 hour walk) every day during our recent trip. The beach wide and flat and the sea is safe with a shallow grade. Be careful to check the tide though as when the tide is in, it is more difficult to navigate some areas of the beach,

Restored movie theater in downtown Mazatlan.
Over the last 24 years of going to Mazatlan we have always trued to see performances at Angela Paralta. We have never been disappointed. They bring in great talents and interesting performances. They have everything from traditional Mexican shows to opera, ballet, classical music, etc. Most are in English during tourist season. The prices are very reasonable. Go on a Friday or Sat. night and also enjoy Plaza Machado (1/2 block away) and its outdoor vendors and restaurants.
