The Hawaiian island of Maui is a destination for true nature lovers. The ethereal bamboo forest and churning waterfalls in Haleakala National Park can be explored via the Waimoku Falls Trail. Stretch out on warm, golden sands or hit the surf for an unforgettable windsurfing or snorkeling session. Driving the scenic road to Hana along the island’s northeastern shore will be among the most spectacular journeys of your life. Time stands still at the Hawaiian village of Keanae, definitely worth a visit.

The Sacred Garden is free and open to the public daily, 10-5. We have a 10,000 sq. ft. greenhouse nursery full of beautiful tropical plants as well as 2 labyrinths for walking meditations, a shrine room, a beautiful Buddha Garden, water lily ponds, and sitting or picnic areas. Whether you come to contemplate and pray, grieve or celebrate, write in our community journals or use the art table, read a book in the library, share time with friends or spend some time in silent surrender, The Sacred Garden offers something for everyone.Operated by the Divine Nature Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to education, rejuvenation and inspiration. Come, experience peace!
We were so delighted that we stopped here..after losing a special relative just a few days ago, this was so welcoming and peaceful and stopping for just 30 minutes brought about a much needed respite and a wonderful time for reflection. The "attendee' was kind and made us feel so at home. There are several different ways to "honor" a loved one or to leave a memory. This is a non profit and needs your support.

Iao Valley State Monument, Maui, will remain closed indefinitely due to extensive damage from heavy rain and flooding the night of September 13 and early morning on September 14, 2016.
Kepaniwai Heritage Gardens in Maui is worth a stop to walk and enjoy the gardens, the nature, and learn about contributions to Hawaiian heritage from people from other countries (Korea, Portugal, China, Japan and the territory of Puerto Rico). The gardens need some maintenance, but still the natural setting in a valley next to a flowing river and mountains makes for a beautiful walk. When we were there in January, we saw quite a few birds in the trees also. Covered shelters are available for picnics. No admission fees and free parking too.

Wow, this place can take all day! Just no end to the beautiful plants, flowers and trees. Watch for Jackson Chameleons about. East stroll to many different areas with ponds and flowing streams though the gardens. A showplace of tropical plants, this place is fun and informative. A must when visiting Maui for sure!

Kahanu Garden is one of five locations of the National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG). Kahanu is home to large collections of Breadfruit and other ethno-botanical plants of the pacific as well as Pi'ilanihale Heiau believed to be the largest heiau in The State of Hawaii and a National Historic Landmark.
This visit was a birthday gift. Wasn't what I had expected. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and personable. Learned so much about the Hawaiian history, its people, the vegetation, the islanders life beliefs, etc. And, the place is beautiful.

Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park dedicated to trees. We also feature hundreds of lowland rainforest species of flowers, shrubs, and ground covers as well.We began this project in1991 with 30 acres of densely overgrown jungle, now after investing more than 20yrs of physical labor and 2 million dollars, we have created one of Hawaii's most visited botanical gardens. We have many plants found nowhere else or are uncommon to Hawaii, such as rare Amazon fruits and medicinal species, endangered hardwoods, spice, exotic nut trees, ferns and so much more...A botanical Disneyland with over 2 miles of maintained graveled walking trails...A truly educational facility with over 700 plants botanically labeled. Try to allow at least 45 minutes to explore. We feature great views and photo opportunities but no direct access to the waterfall or pools. If you are only interested in restrooms (we now have improved facilities) You can do so for free 2 miles down the road.A portion of your entry fee is donated to the nature conservatory. The cost to keep our gate open averages $1,000/dy so we sincerely thank you for your support,,,especially those who have contributed beyond our entry fee. Most botanical gardens have teams of volunteers and use chemicals to curb costs. Our entire staff are well paid professionals, and we are almost entirely a chemical free park. Thank you for visiting, we do take your comments to heart
Beautiful garden although entrance is a bit confusing, not very clear about which direction to go, if there’s parking, is it just a drive through or are there trails? You can do all of the above, drive through or park and hike. Several parking lots, several bathrooms and beautiful flora. We enjoyed all the placards naming and describing the plants and trees, the trails were nicely kept and yet there was still a feeling of wild ‘jungle’. So sad to see all the carving in some of the trees and bamboo. Very disrespectful. The road to Hana is always a bit daunting but if your destination is The Garden of Eden, very little traffic if you leave mid morning!

An easy self guided walking tour of approximately 10 acres with a helpful hand drawn map. Free parking area with a $3 per person entrance fee. Mostly tropical flowers and fruits and most of the plants the Hawaiians brought in their canoes to help them survive. A good place to get out of the car and stretch. No botanical names but if the owner is present, she is always ready to talk plants.

Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is a six acre botanical garden nestled in the heart of Kahului, Maui, Hawai‘i. Unlike other botanical gardens statewide, MNBG is the only botanical garden in the State of Hawai‘i that primarily features collections of Native Hawaiian and Polynesian-introduced plant species within a coastal sand dune environment. The garden showcases Hawaiian plant collections that are specific to the islands of Maui Nui (Maui, Moloka‘i, Lāna‘i, Kaho‘olawe, and Molokini) and many are endangered and/or endemic to the islands.
Very well done cultural botanical garden. We came towards the end of the day and the staff was very friendly and allowed us to stay after closing. She was very helpful. We loved going around a seeing all the native and Polynesian introduced plants and trees that formed the basis for Hawaiian life: food, medicine, construction, tools. The handheld self guided tour devices held a lot of information about the plants and there usages. Both Botanical and cultural information on most of the plants was available. It gives you a botanical view of the interaction of culture and physical world of Hawaii.
