My family and I went to Martinsburg for an afternoon and we arrived at the Roundhouse just as it was opening. The gentleman there who manages the property welcomed us in and gave us an amazing 1-hour+ tour of the facility. We learned about the history of the area and of the train system, and got to go inside each of the buildings. You could tell he was very passionate about keeping everything preserved. The Roundhouse itself is seriously cool. I had no idea they existed so it was really cool to walk in there and see all of the tracks and the rotating platform beneath our feet. There are train cars you can go into, as well as explore engines and other equipment used back in the day. I would highly recommend spending some time here!

Located at 313 East John Street next to the Adam Stephen House, this structure was built by Philip Showers in 1874 and rented out as housing to railroad workers. In early records, it was listed as the "Tribble (Triple) House" or "the brick house divided into three dwellings." The building now contains a museum of artifacts and memorabilia of life in old Martinsburg. Items on permanent exhibit inc
