WINE TRICKS WINE TOUR at StoneCutter Estate A fantastic experience for the novice and aficionado alike, the WineTricks' Wine Tour is based in the vineyard itself and includes behind-the-scenes insights on grape growing and wine making. Tour guests sample wines whilst assembling knowledge and appreciation for the Martinboorugh wine region.
The staff is very friendly and gives lots of information. The wines range is not that big but really of great quality. I wish they sold some bread or snacks. But overall very nice experience

Friendly and attentive service, delicious wines - we started with tasting selection, then decided to confirm (several times :) ) our favs, just a delightful way to spend an afternoon in the sun. Totally recommended in a beautiful setting.

We travel all over the world and love visiting cellar doors.....this one @ Margrain Vineyard has to be rated one of the best. We were made to feel welcome from arrival and Kate is not only extremely knowledgeable but entertaining as well. The tasting room was quite busy when we arrived but she handled it all in good humour and even remembered where everyone was up to.....now that's impressive! The range of wines and quality for such a boutique vineyard is amazing. We ended up settling on the Margrain Gewurtztraminer.....and so pleased we did.....matched beautifully with our dinner from Tamarind in Blenheim a few days later :) If you only visit one cellar door in Martinborough.....this is the one!

A world search, which also included France, Germany, North and South America as well as Australia for the ideal area with perfect conditions for viticulture, especially for Pinot Noir, brought Kai Schubert and Marion Deimling, graduates of the German Viticulture and Oenology University in Geisenheim to the Wairarapa, New Zealand. Schubert vineyards are closely planted and the unique climate produces low yields and internationally award winning wines with intense and complex character; predominantly exported to currently 25 countries.
Schubert was the last on our list for wine tasting and we were not disappointed. Coco was attentive and ensured we weren’t sitting around without a taster for too long. We ended up ordering a mixed case of four different wines which coco arranged to be couriered home. They arrived home before we did - how’s that for service! You don’t have to book for a tasting but it does fill up fast. From memory bookings are recommended for groups of six or more.

Ata Rangi is one of the founding vineyards of Martinborough, originally planting on the stony terrace in 1980. By appointment, its Cellar Door offers an intimate personalised tasting experience, sharing the story of the business and the history of the region, accompanied by a seated tasting of a selection of current wines. There is no charge for the tasting. However, with limited placings available, bookings are essential.
We had booked a tasting here. Very worthwhile. Seated at a tabled we were able to try a number of their wines. Other turned up there for a tasting but without a booking - they were turned away. We purchased quite a lot of wine there.

Enjoy our wines in a relaxed cellar door environment. Take a seat, take your time and enjoy our selection of wines on tasting. Or if you would prefer to lounge outside on the beanbags in the Wairarapa sun or cosy up by the fire in the middle of winter, you can also purchase by the glass or share a bottle with friends accompanied by our tasty selection of food options.
Awesome sunny wee place to chill in the afternoon with a Delish beverage and pizza. No menu night is also fantastic, highly recommend
