Since 2011 The Lagoon on Grassy Key is a tropical Adventure Park for tourism and locals alike. Originally built by pro kite & wakeboarder Matt Sexton alongside Mike & Shana Walsh of Otherside Boardsports, Keys Cable Park has become one of the top board training facilities in North America for Wake, Kite, and Foilboard training. After nearly decade of operation the property was forced to close due to the COVID 19 pandemic but was reopened Summer 2020 by Matt Sexton in partnership with Grassy Flats Resort. Keys Cable Park is still the star attraction at the Lagoon and has been revamped with a new UNIT Parktech Terrain Park. In addition visitors can now also browse the Lagoon Saloon a retail store which is a surf shop & bar in a large Graffiti clad building next to Bongos, a tropical beer garden & eatery. Sexton also founded the Florida Keys Community Center which boasts the Grassy Key Botanical Garden & artist village complete with art installations, vendors, a sawmill, and more!
