Shannon National Park

Reviewed By 720graemeb

Since reopening the campsite following a fire some time ago, the Shannon campgrounds are a must stay place for your camping/bushwalking/relaxing getaway spot. Camp and caravan sites are available throughout the bush area as well as a new, as yet unforrested area. Showers are available but you have to light the chip heater to get the water hot. All part of the experience. Enjoy the peace, the kangaroos and bird life or walk the area and see the amazing fauna. Camp hosts are on site to provide assistance if needed. And it’s only a short drive to Mt Frankland for an awe inspiring view from the top. Well, that’s after a long walk to get there. But well worth it. Thanks DPAW for the great work.

Four Aces

Reviewed By mjail5

Interesting that these 4 karri trees grew in a straight line. There is a 15 min return trail walk which we did not do but just walked past the Four Aces and rounded the fallen tree back to the car park. There is also an Information Shelter with notes about the karri trees.
