Ghajn Tuffieha Bay

We visited the area at the beginning of January on a sunny day, and there were very few people there, which just added magic to the whole experience. I imagine this place to be packed in summer, the beach is sandy and it's such a beautiful spot. The clay slopes provide a dramatic contrast to the blue sea below. It's worth walking all the way around the large 'rock' overlooking the sea. We walked around this and then down to the beach. We spent some time on the beach and then walked back up towards the tower. It is so beautiful here, the views are breath-taking and it's just absolutely worth visiting, especially on a cold, sunny day if you like hiking or on a warm, sunny day if you like swimming. Next time we'll go back with a kayak so we can explore the caves around the area.

The immediate area is open and rather barren and rocky. A road leads down to the lovely, sandy beach sheltered on three sides by low cliffs. Mosta 5 1/2 miles, St Paul's Bay 3 miles, airport 17 miles.

PART 2 .../ En route an optional extra was offered for a 1/2 hour motor boat trip to set off immediately upon arrival at the BL of which we took advantage at €10,00 pp. This was a fantastic decision and was full of thrills and awesome views that you would not otherwise see. Great skipper, great music (I'm no longer a raver but it soooo worked!!). This gave us plenty of time back at the BL for diving, sliding, snorkeling etc and a useful recommendation of when to order lunch on board prior to the Option Bs making their way to Gozo. The 10 minute crossing done and our driver was waiting for us - Victor Iloveyou was his apparent name - great character, great info. We enjoyed an hour in the capital and citadel, a great trip to San Lourenz lake and a fishing boat trip for €3,00 through the narrow caves and the amazing changing blue waters - take advantage if you can, it only runs when the calm waters support it and supports the local fishermen (actually we found this to be more spectacular than the Blue Grotto tbh). Finally then a stop at a high view point looking onto the BL in the distance so great photo opportunity. The boat was back with us within 10 minutes of our return to the dockside. The return to Bugibba was via the south side of Comino so offered another perspective and the hour long cruise was a great, relaxing way to finish off the day before an immediate return to the coach with Katherine waiting for us to ensure that the day had gone as she had done her best to ensure and that the final transfer was as smooth as the rest had been. I cannot give a greater testimony than this as a traveler to more than 60 countries - take advantage of the ridiculous price, I would have paid at least double, if not more. GREAT JOB GUYS, THANK YOU

There is limited parking in the parking lot near the beach. A lovely beach with a restaurant close by. There are toilets with no toilet paper which you have to pay for but they were pretty clean. A worthwhile beach to go to.
