The largest mosque in male and built with donations from many Islamic countries. The surrounding area is also very clean and neat and you may spend some time here. It is allowed to enter the premises for everyone including ladies if you are not wearing revealing clothes. This is my first experience inside a mosque as it is not allowed to enter them in most of other countries. Good place to blend in with local culture and get to know a thing or two about them.

Went there for Jummah prayers. Jummah prayer is conducted in Maldivian local language. It was well within walking distance from our hotel. Love the dome of the masjid.

"Kedeyre Miskiy" is a mosque established in the year 1555 after the second depopulation and resettlement of the island in 1550. The mosque was built by a cotizen of Fuvahmulah Ali Adafi Kaleyfaan. The mosque is constructed with finely shaped interlocking coral blocks ('Hirigaa' in local language). The famous, intricate and uniquely carved stonework of the boundary wall of the well.
