So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

You can now enter the world of flamenco at its most edgy and can do so at the hands of one of the pianists at the forefront of the style: Pablo Ruben Maldonado. Every Saturday, the artist from Granada will show the public his personal vision of the music as he combines tradition and modernity in his “Flamenco Backstage” Show. During the performance the audience will feel as if they are watching from the comfort of their sitting room at home, the intimacy is such that one is aware of the performers’ hearts beating in time to the music. Maldonado’s musical proposal is so intense that its magic permeates the souls of those present, thus converting the Backstage into something addictive. Do you dare to try it? “Flamenco Backstage” has a new home. The family Hinves and Steinway & Sons have opened their doors to Flamenco.

Unforgettable improvised theatre - in English- based on YOUR suggestions. Totally unplanned fun from MAD Improv - Madrid's only English language improvised theatre company.
Tight, funny yet sensitive improv show based on 2 interviews w/audience members. Adapts super-well to Zoom. Same (but different) as on stage and you can see them better. Go, but stay home.

What happens when you put a Spanish and a Canadian comedian together on stage? An unforgettable night of comedy in English! And the best part? This show is for all levels of English proving that humor is indeed an international language. Live Story mixes stand up and sketch comedy with scenes revolving around like in Spain.
Great show Tricia and Fernando, they are amazing comedians and their materials are very genuine and authentic and you just love to watch their sketches to the end.

Shows alive. Probably the best flamenco tablao in Madrid, nothing fancy about the rugged tablao of Cardamomo, the best undergournd flamenco shows that are to be found in Madrid, a must see attraction, dinner is optional. Me and my family loved the show, it was amazing to see a part of spains culture expressed through dancing in such a powerful and strongly beautiful way! I think Cardamomo is the right choice for everyone who is interested in flamenco, spanish culture and dancing in general and who want’s to spend a great evening with loved ones.

LAS TABLAS is the ideal place to spend an evening experiencing the song, dance and guitar of Flamenco while enjoying exquisite Spanish cuisine. Every night, our audience’s imagination is captivated by the passion of the song, the intensity of the dance and the sound of the guitar being played to the beat of clapping hands. Every night is unforgettable. We’re a young, dynamic, artist-led Flamenco stage, centrally located at Plaza de España, number 9, in the very heart of Madrid. You’ll find us between the Royal Palace’s Sabatini Gardens and the Temple of Debod. Our repertoire includes varied, representative Flamenco at its best, which is always open to proposals from emerging and acclaimed artists alike. Our two daily shows, at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m., feature performances by great artists and meticulous staging.
This was my first flamenco show and I was a bit skeptical about it. After 5 minutes of the show (booked on their website w/ 1 drink included) I absolutely loved it and so did my wife. Dancers, singer and guitarist are very passionate about their craft and performed exceptionally. This was one of my favorite experiences in Spain and it was worth every penny. Highly recommend it everyone. Videos on YouTube or recorded in person don't do it justice. Must see live.

Cafetín La Quimera, located in the Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid, is a small and intimate restaurant with flamenco shows every day. The venue is dedicated to offering the public an authentic flamenco experience at a reasonable price. The flamenco performances are held from Monday through Sunday, with one show per night during the weekdays and two shows per night during the weekends. Ticket packages include the option of the show with drink or dinner, featuring different menus of traditional Spanish dishes that can be sampled tapas style. The atmosphere is one of a local bar and restaurant: a friendly, informal and relaxed setting which is perfect for an evening of flamenco. Seating is also never far from the stage with tables and chairs on two sides for a good view of the show. No microphones or additional technical equipment are used for voice and guitar: the emphasis is always on the artist’s natural tools and talents to transmit the experiences of flamenco without effects.
Amazing dancing and music in a beautiful and intimate location. It was one of the best parts of our trip to Spain and it was so nice to experience traditional Spanish culture in an authentic atmosphere.
