Things to do in Madrid, Community of Madrid: The Best Fashion Shows & Tours

June 13, 2021 Roseanne Arnett

So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

I’m passionate about limited editions, independent designers and choose good quality fabrics over famous brands. I love vintage-modern interior designs, healthy food and art. I know the best typical Spanish shops, where fashion history has been written. I can show you where to get the best value for money in the Barrio de Las Letras or Malasaña neighbourhood. If you are looking for exclusive treasures, I can give you a high level shopping tour. During our shopping spree I’ll give you fashion and style advice, covering trends, beauty and make-up. We’ll have a good time! Let's have fun together!

Our private visit of the Prado took place in the best conditions, our guide Maria knew how to make us live a unique moment through the museum. She has great knowledge and has been able to transmit her knowledge to us. Our visit of the masterpieces was very instructive and allowed us to have a very complete vision of the the museum. We loved the paintings of Goya, Titian and Velasquez, thanks to this private visit we learned a lot about the history and life of these famous painters. We highly recommend this experience with Madrid Discovery.

Wonderful experience if you've got a 3+ day trip planned to Catalonia. You'll meet up and take a 45-ish minute bus ride to up to Montserrat and go on a tour of the monastery and have a chance to buy some premium products (olive oils, liqueurs, etc.). You'll get some free time to explore on your own and then ride the train down the mountain to a local ranch where you'll get paired up with your horse. It was my first time riding a horse in about 15-20 years, but they made it as easy as possible. The horse tour through the country side lasts somewhere between 1-2 hours and the views are breathtaking.
