Breezy Madeira is an eponymous island in the Madeira Islands, a Portuguese archipelago. The capital city of Funchal was settled in the 15th century and is a colorful collection of gardens, religious sites, and quirky tourist attractions like the thatched-roof Madeira Story Centre. Hike to the summit of Pico Ruivo and you’ll feel like you’ve climbed through the clouds. Unwind over a glass of Madeira wine, an historic fortified beverage that’s musky and subtly sweet.

Lovely shopping centre and small food mall, great if you love shopping, wife does, I don't. Also has decent size supermarket if you're self catering! Just give her the card, grab a beer and brace yourself!

This open market is a hive of activity, noise, color and high-energy, where you can buy any of Madeira's specialties from fresh fish and vegetables to exotic flowers and local crafts. Purchase tropical fruits, vegetables and spices on the upper floor; fish and meat are for sale on the lower floor.
What a stunning market this is. There is dazzlinly fresh fish on display, including the menacing looking black scabbard fish, fabulous fruit and veg, plus spices and really sumptuous flower and plant stalls.
