Khinthong Lao Silk (previously known as Kin Thong Lao Silk) specializes in textiles handwoven by Tai Daeng women from Xam Tai District. They are renowned for their intricate patterning. Khinthong Xayalath, the owner, who is also a Tai Daeng woman from Xam Tai was a weaver. She collaborates with a group of weavers and dyers whose families have produced textiles for generations. The shop contains a collection of textiles in various sizes.
This shop has the best weavings in Laos. Stunning works of art at reasonable prices. You also know that you are helping women in a regional village to support their families. Highly recommended. They can also tell you all about the symbolism in the weavings.

I sent time in this beautiful shop and came away with a number of wonderful clothing. The shop is beautifully set out and the ideal place to buy gifts for family and friends which are of good quality and unique. I was able to buy some beautiful clothing for my daughter and myself. Christine who designs many of the clothing pieces is so friendly and welcoming and makes your visit relaxed and enjoyable. She was so helpful in assisting me in choosing clothing which suited me and is very passionate about her clothing, i would highly recommended you visit Queen Lao if you want to buy clothing which are not only beautiful but unique pieces and more importantly Christine uses local materials and is ethically minded in supporting the local community. A visit here us a must and I know you will not be disappointed!

This is the lovliest shop, for a number of reasons. Firstly, it's elegant. It's stock is elegant, the shop itself is elegantly subdued and airy. It's a change from the 'night market' style shopping which is signature Luang Prabang. Secondly, its in a pretty part of town, almost at the tip of the peninsula. Actually, if you're looking for higher end shopping then this is possibly the area for you. Thiedly and most worthy, I guess, is that the purpose of celadon is to support and assist buddhist education and one of the aims of that is to teach children the traditional artisanal skills and crafts so that these do not die out. It's a lovely place to buy gifts or souvenirs and everything is very carefully and prettily packaged. I bought a charming celadon green ceramic elephant, now gracing my travel bookshelf, having made it safely home by virtue of the care with which it was packed.

Enjoy our handicrafts shop that supports the deaf community. A school for deaf&mute children has been created in 2008 to educate&re-insert the deaf children into the local community. The older ones learn one job. The girls have the opportunity yo weave&develop their skills. Here you can experience the local culture through sustainable tourism.
This is a very special place to visit as part of visiting LPG. The young men and women are very special and talented at weaving, sewing cooking and motorcycle maintenance. You can stop by and eat, get a tour and even donate milk & cookies or snacks to many wonderful deaf & mute kids. I love everyone there and it's one of the best times I have when I visit every year.

We wanted to do the 2 days one night worke shop with somedeth. It was so nice that we spend a extra night for a beautiful ceremony with his family. At the first day we could chose and help to dyeing 4 colors. After that we made some yarn and even the cotten was by our self. That was a great day. His mother in law guided me so good. In the evening we had a great dinner with his friendly family. We fall a sleep quickly in his home stay. The second day started with a lovely breakfast, and then we woved our own scarves. That was great. Somedeth helped us with everything. He talk about the situation in the village, in laos, ohh man that second day was over before he realy started.. In the evening he organized a wonderful ceremony for good luck with the neighborhood. In the next morning he drove us to the bus station in pakmong, that was not even part of the original arrangement.. But no problem at all. Thx 4 all somedeth, we have a lot of good memories!!!

Walking along the river bank we came across Aromdee and had a delightful dialogue with Keo and Sou. Keo brewed an aromatic drip coffee and I had black ginger tea. Definitely recommend a visit.
