Mexico's fastest growing resort area offers miles of empty desert and deserted beaches. Laid-back nightlife and old-fashioned fun in the sun is the Cabos' lure. Only certain beaches are safe for swimming, however, including Lovers' Beach and the more tempestuous and aptly named Divorce Beach. Whale watching, hang-gliding, snorkeling, antiquing, golf and fishing, Loreto's historic mission, and sport fishing and dining in capital La Paz are other attractions. SuburBaja buses travel the coast.

We booked this hike for our last day in Cabo. Little did we know we would save the very best until last. What a way to remember the Baja Peninsula! From the moment we met Danny, we knew this was going to be a really fun excursion. Turns out both my husband and Danny are rock climbers and that jump started our conversation. From there, Danny shared information on Cabo, the highway we traveled to Todos Santos and the history of Todos Santos itself. After a tour of the town that included more interesting facts and history, we went to an open air restaurant he recommended and were treated to some of the best food we have had anywhere. From there we headed to the "trailhead" for the sunset hike which started from the locals fishing beach. It was refreshing to hike an area we had entirely to ourselves, learn about some of the native plants, scramble up rocks and take in the incredible vistas at the top. We made it to our destination in time to watch and listen to a colony of sea lions swimming and barking below us. Pretty sure Danny arranged that too. He was that good. (: If you can only choose one thing to do while in Cabo, make sure it's this hike!

I would give this trip 6 stars if I could. Everything was as promised. Our guide, Luisa, has a marine biology degree and was informative and experienced. She worked well with our captain, Gustavo, to get us the best views and the best place for snorkeling. The boat was so comfortable and well-shaded below while also offering a sunning area above. The views were marvelous. The snorkel equipment was in great condition and high quality. Both Luisa and Gustavo made sure that we had what we needed from cold drinks, chips and two kinds of salsa, to the large swim mat and time to just luxuriate in the bay. We highly recommend a private boat rental from La Isla. Oh! And the entire booking and confirmation process through Gabriela was easy and smooth.

Tour was beyond horrible. Worst 11 hr day.....Highlight should be Balandra and that's what description states. Your company misled entire van of tourists and didn't even get into Balandra at all so no great views nor mushroom rock. Forget any pictures. Went to ghetto beach that was filthy, fly infested and not 1 person even went in water. Everyone just stood there in disbelief this is what we get for price paid. No upbeat morale from guides when picked up from Krystal resort or go over itinerary for day just so everyone on same page or have idea what to expect. Not much knowledge and when went to locations never given exact time like normally where told my watch is this time meet back at such time so everyone on same page. Pearl store, guy doing demonstration was rude and actually used unprofessional language around a child in group. All can say did we learn anything from our trip, absolutely not when it came to culture or history from area. Breakfast stop was only highlight of entire day. Lunch at restaurant lacked service and quality. Soup never came after asked 3 times and orders were confused when brought among entire group by staff. Unfortunately only had limited time in Cabo and this wasted valuable 11 hr day with nothing positive to say nor pictures of Balandra or mushroom rock. No memory captured except unpleasant horrible experience. Tour company and guides should be ashamed of themselves.

Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable and went out of his way to give us a good tour. The downside was the church was not open due to covid and the furniture builder was absent and was not building and the guide actually told us about the business. At the tannery, the tanner was there but again not much actually to see as they were not tanning any leather at the time. We were able to purchase some leather goods. Overall, we did get to see some real Mexico and some little communities and how people truly live there rather than just the tourist zones which was what we wanted from the tour. We enjoyed the tour and the day.
