With pleasant weather year-round, Loreto invites you to come outside and play. Less crowded than some resort towns, it's a great base for snorkeling, sport fishing or just relaxing on the beach. Annual whale migrations draw massive crowds in springtime.

This surfside avenue is Loreto's center for peoplewatching, by day and night.
I would visit this place any time. Much better than La Paz!! Very clean and touristy with so much history. Nice people and very relaxing quiet city on an isolated type of beach. The city is a great place to visit with some beautiful churches and missions with so much Mexican culture here. We could not believe how well the city was kept up and taken care of for some many years. Really cool place to visit.
The Bay of San Basilio is sandwiched between Punta Mercenarios on the South and the shorter Punta San Basilio peninsula on the North. Its waters and estuaries contain a myriad of near shore and bay species, and are visited often by whales, whale sharks, dolphin and schools of many other fish species that arrive en masse during the year.
